The QS Higher Ed Summit 2025 is a major series of events organized by QS Quacquarelli Symonds, bringing together approximately 2,000 university leaders, experts, and policymakers from over 40 countries. This year, the theme focuses on developing generational potential through skills and partnerships, with in-depth discussions on key trends and challenges in higher education that highlight the integration of AI and emerging technologies in teaching and learning, competency and employability standards, research impact, university–industry collaboration, and flexible, micro-learning models designed to meet the needs of the future workforce.
By attending the summit, UEF aimed to achieve several strategic objectives: updating standards and best practices in university governance, quality assurance, and competency-based program development; expanding its network of partners to foster student and faculty exchanges, joint research supervision, international internships, and experiential semester programs; and promoting the University’s internationalization capabilities and strengths in bilingual and international programs, linking education closely with industry experience. Participation in strategic discussion sessions and meetings with top regional universities enables UEF to align its systems with global standards while identifying new collaboration opportunities, particularly in AI, digital business, communications, finance and banking, logistics, and tourism and hospitality.

Notably, Dr. Ly Thien Trang served as a guest speaker in the panel discussion “How Universities Are Shaping ASEAN’s Tomorrow.” Her participation as a speaker helped elevate UEF’s academic standing within the regional university network while showcasing exemplary practices in Vietnamese higher education to an international audience.

UEF signs MOU with Korea Cyber University

On the sidelines of plenary and thematic sessions, UEF representatives proactively met with and explored potential collaborations with regional universities and educational organizations, including Korea Cyber University, Malaysia Science University (MSU), and Tongmyong University.
Notably, on the morning of NOVEMBER 5, UEF signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korea Cyber University, expanding collaboration in areas such as academic exchanges, short-term and semester abroad programs, and connections for internships and professional experiences in South Korea. This marks a concrete step in implementing UEF’s flexible, multi-modal education strategy, enhancing opportunities for students and faculty to engage with advanced academic environments.
The visit further reinforces the University’s comprehensive internationalization strategy

The visit to Republic of Korea demonstrated UEF’s approach of “aligning with regional standards while responding to market needs”: updating AI trends in program design and competency assessment methods; strengthening quality assurance and accreditation systems according to international standards; enhancing academic mobility through new agreements, enabling students to access international courses, transferable credits, and global internship and employment opportunities; and promoting digital teaching innovation, as well as a culture of research and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Through its intensive activities at the QS Higher Ed Summit 2025 and the newly signed cooperation agreements, UEF continues to reaffirm its commitment to comprehensive internationalization, raising educational standards under the motto “International University – Global Careers.” This provides a foundation for students to develop global competencies, skills, and mindsets that meet the expectations of employers in the digital transformation era. The visit expanded UEF’s network of partners and also brought back concrete initiatives to be implemented in the coming academic year, aiming to enrich the international academic and professional experiences of the UEF community.
