UEFers approaches global issues sustainable directions for Vietnamese businesses in the green era

10/04/2025

In the context that the world is entering a period of deep integration, globalization has become the main flow of the global economy. In order to help students have a more comprehensive view of this trend, the Faculty of Economics has just organized a special report on International Business Administration with the theme: "Globalization and international economic integration in Vietnam - Some notes for businesses when doing business in foreign markets" on the evening of October 9.

Activities that bring students a lot of practical knowledge

Accompanying students is MSc. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich - In charge of Training, Events and Foreign Affairs Department, Center for International Integration - Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Development Research. With rich practical experience in the field of international integration and trade, Ms. Ngoc Bich gives learners insights into Vietnam's global economic integration process - from the Innovation milestone in 1986, joining ASEAN (1995), APEC (1998) to WTO (2007).

From that journey, Vietnam has gradually affirmed its position as an open, dynamic and active economy in the new generation of free trade agreements (FTAs). However, Ms. Ngoc Bich also emphasized that in addition to opportunities, Vietnamese businesses are facing increasing challenges in terms of standards, transparency, green transformation and sustainable development. These are the key factors that help businesses stand firm in the global market.

Speakers help students broaden their perspectives from real situations and stories

According to the shared content, new trends such as supply chain shift, digital transformation and green transformation are reshaping the world's economic structure. Vietnamese enterprises need to actively adapt by standardizing production processes, improving internal capacity, applying modern management technology and aiming for green certifications according to GRI, ISO, IFRS-ISSB,... to meet the requirements of consumers and international partners.

Not only stopping at the theory, the topic also brings practical case studies such as: culture in global marketing, how McDonald's behaves in the face of the Israel - Gaza conflict or the story of "Vietnam's coconut honey". Thereby helping students better understand the role of cultural factors and global thinking in international business.

Students actively ask questions to the speaker to deepen their knowledge

The activity not only expands academic knowledge but also arouses the spirit of "global thinking - local action" among UEF students. You will be future international citizens, ready to integrate, adapt and contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnamese businesses in the world market.
