04/07/2026

It can be said that each unveiled design product is not only the result of the learning process but also reflects aesthetic thinking, visual storytelling capabilities, and the unique creative imprint of the creator.

On the afternoon of July 2, the Faculty of Information Technology (FIT) organized the illustration course product exhibition for semester 2B of the 2025–2026 academic year, dedicated to Graphic Design students. The activity was held to provide an opportunity for students to display and introduce their final course products while connecting with experts and enterprises in the creative design and illustration fields.

The exhibition offers a dynamic display space, highlighting a wide array of creative artworks produced by UEF Graphic Design students.

Attending the program on behalf of the Faculty of Information Technology were Ms. Hoang Thi Hang - Assistant to the Dean, along with lecturers: Ms. Vo Dinh Nga, Ms. Huynh Ngoc Tuong Anh, Ms. Pham Nguyen Thach Thao, and Mr. Le Ky Quang Anh.

Representing enterprise guests were Ms. Dang Ngoc Minh Trang - Co-Founder of Comicola Joint Stock Company, Ms. Duong Dang Ha My - Head of Design at New Plus Media, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh My - Creative Director of Way Creative Studio.

Faculty representatives presented letters of appreciation to the distinguished guests to express their gratitude.

The exhibition showcased children's story illustration books personally created by UEFers. Many familiar literary works and fairy tales such as The Little Match Girl, The Three Axes, The Wild Swans, The Monkey's Heart, and The Ugly Duckling were reimagined from fresh perspectives through modern illustration language. Each project demonstrated serious investment ranging from content research, character design, and color palette selection to page layout design, thereby delivering vivid visual experiences while preserving the spirit of the original works.

Beyond drawing skills, the products also reflected the development of students' design thinking. Every line, color treatment method, image rhythm, and emotion-conveying technique was carefully considered to suit the target audience, especially children. Each book represents a combination of artistry, storytelling, and publishing design, reflecting the ability to apply interdisciplinary knowledge accumulated during their studies.

Students reinterpreted familiar tales through contemporary illustration techniques, reflecting their distinct creative signatures.

Within the framework of the exhibition, lecturers and enterprise representatives directly visited each exhibition booth and provided feedback. Insights revolving around practical applicability, visual storytelling, illustration style, color usage, and the commercial viability of the products gave UEFers a realistic perspective from professionals currently active in the creative industry.

The professional jury offered actionable insights to help students sharpen their design mindset and enhance their professional competencies.

Following the evaluation process, three works received high praise from the professional council: Red Shoes, Hai dua tre (Two Children), and The Tale of Princess Kaguya. These products were recognized for their creative ideas, distinct illustration styles, visual storytelling capabilities, and high completion levels in both content and form.

Three student designers whose works earned high acclaim from the professional jury at the exhibition.

More than just a course summary, the illustration product exhibition serves as a bridge between the educational environment and professional reality, allowing students to view their work through the eyes of experts and businesses. The valuable feedback from this activity will become baggage for students to continue refining their design thinking, developing personal creative styles, and stepping confidently into a professional working environment in the future.
