UEF connects 60 entrepreneurs to discuss development strategies in the BANI era

To create a networking forum between the academic world and the business community to discuss management trends and business model innovation amidst significant fluctuations, the UEF Faculty of Information Technology co-organized the seminar "Businesses in the BANI Era: Adapt or Be Wiped Out?" alongside a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony with technology enterprises. Taking place on the morning of June 26, the program attracted the participation of over 60 entrepreneurs, experts, and managers from various fields, bringing multidimensional perspectives on adaptability and sustainable development in the digital age.

Attending the program on behalf of UEF were Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman of the University Council; Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President of UEF, Vice Chairman of the Gia Dinh Ward Business Association; Dr. Nguyen Ha Giang - Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Loan - Deputy Director of the Center for Corporate Cooperation; and Ms. Hoang Thi Hang - Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology.

Over 60 business leaders from various sectors gathered to share their perspectives on development strategies in the BANI era.

Representing the corporate side were Mr. Nguyen Tu Mi - Chairman of the Gia Dinh Ward Business Association; Dr. Pham Quang Quy - Chairman of the Vietnam IT CEO Community (ICC), Business Advisor, Professional Trainer for B2B Sales; Mr. Van Cong Hau - Vice Chairman in charge of the Membership Committee of the Vietnam IT CEO Community (ICC); Mr. Huynh Tan Quoc - Vice Chairman in charge of the Training Committee of the Vietnam IT CEO Community (ICC); Mr. Nguyen The Loi - Chairman of Saigon Thang Long Group, Chairman of the Van Phuc Business Community (VPBC); Mr. Bui Cao Hoc - CEO & Founder of CloudGO Technology Co., Ltd.; Coach Lam Binh Bao - General Director of B Coaching; Mr. Pham Van Canh - Founder & CEO of Besco Consulting, Senior ERP Consultant; Mr. Nguyen Phuong Lam - Deputy Head of the Southern Representative Office of the Vietnam E-commerce Association; Ms. Nguyen Thị Van Anh - Sales Director of Tri Viet Phat Trading, Production and Services Co., Ltd.; Mr. Do Huy Binh - Founder & CEO of Smartlog Supply Chain Solutions Joint Stock Company; Mr. Tran Trieu Quan - Deputy Head of the Training Committee of the Gia Dinh Ward Business Association, lecturer at the UEF Faculty of Business Administration; alongside numerous entrepreneurs and experts from various sectors.

University representatives extended a warm welcome to partner enterprises.

At the program, Mr. Do Quoc Anh emphasized that the world is entering a phase of powerful transformation driven by a series of factors such as geopolitical fluctuations, economic crises, climate change, and especially the explosive development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technology. In this context, the BANI model—characterized by Brittle, Anxious, Nonlinear, and Incomprehensible traits—accurately reflects the challenges currently facing the business community. Past success formulas are no longer guarantees for the future, requiring organizations to continuously innovate, adapt, and transform to maintain competitiveness.

The University representative highly praised the significance of the seminar in creating a networking forum for academia and the business community to share management trends, business models, and development strategies in the new era. Practical perspectives from experts and entrepreneurs not only help lecturers and students meet labor market demands but also contribute to enhancing training quality aligned with practical orientation and international integration.

Mr. Do Quoc Anh emphasized the practical significance and timeliness of the seminar in the current context.

"Within the framework of the program, UEF signed practical training Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with seven organizations: IT CEO Vietnam Community, Van Phuc Entrepreneur Community, BETECH Digital Solution Services Co., Ltd., BeOn Technology & Services Co., Ltd., Southern Medical Equipment Import and Distribution Co., Ltd., Besco Consulting, and Emi International Education and Investment JSC.

The signing aims to leverage each party's strengths in training, research, and high-quality human resource development. Accordingly, these enterprises will accompany UEF in various activities, such as providing feedback to update curricula based on market needs; hosting seminars, thematic sessions, and specialized workshops; and offering students opportunities for corporate visits, field observations, internships, and recruitment. Additionally, all parties will enhance collaboration in research, knowledge transfer, and real-world project execution—empowering students to build professional competence, adaptability, and readiness for labor market demands in the digital transformation era.

Dr. Nhan Cam Tri represented UEF in signing a partnership agreement with enterprises.

Following the signing ceremony, Mr. Huynh Tan Quoc presented an overview of the IT CEO Community Vietnam (ICC), highlighting its strategic vision and pivotal role in bridging enterprises, industry experts, and academic institutions to nurture a high-quality tech talent ecosystem.

Mr. Huynh Tan Quoc shared the core values of ICC with business leaders.

Addressing key strategies for corporate expansion, Dr. Pham Quang Quy delivered a presentation on 'Growth in the BANI Era.' He described BANI as a framework reflecting today's volatile business landscape—marked by fragile cash flow, market anxiety, non-linear developments, and rapid AI integration.

Drawing from extensive consulting expertise, he stressed that sustained organizational growth hinges on strategic reviews, resource optimization, and heightened market adaptability.

Dr. Pham Quang Quy emphasized that enterprises need to clearly redefine their strategies in the new context.

Following up, Coach Lam Binh Bao delivered a presentation on 'Business Models in the BANI Era.' He emphasized that regardless of VUCA or BANI labels, business success hinges on adaptability and internal resilience rather than competing solely on price or quality. To secure a sustainable competitive advantage, he advised companies to build effective business models centered on four core pillars: target customer identification, unique value proposition, core competency development, and a sound financial strategy.

Coach Lam Binh Bao also introduced the 'principle of contrast' as an approach to innovation, emphasizing simplification of the complex, dematerialization, and materialization of abstract values to enhance competitiveness in the AI age.

Multidimensional Perspectives on Organizational Adaptation and Transformation

A highlight of the event was a panel session moderated by Mr. Bui Cao Hoc, assembling key industry leaders and experts. Discussions centered on organizational resilience and agility, offering practical insights into strategic realignments, business model innovation, and AI adoption to drive sustained growth.

The panel session provided an in-depth analysis of key operational facets within enterprise business management.

Featuring leaders across real estate, logistics, manufacturing, services, tech and education, the panel offered diverse perspectives on organizational transformation. Speakers openly discussed both achievements and operational setbacks, providing attendees with practical management lessons. The interactive dialogue enabled business leaders and academic faculty to acquire actionable insights for enhancing corporate governance, market agility, and long-term resilience.

Experts and corporate leaders offered multidimensional insights, framing an overarching overview of the economic and technological landscape in the BANI era.

The panel discussion and MOU signing ceremony reaffirmed UEF's Faculty of Information Technology's commitment to industry-linked education. The event expanded its strategic partner network, creating hands-on learning and career development opportunities for students to meet digital-era workforce demands.
