Aberystwyth University (Wales) seeks opportunities to collaborate with UEF

On 16 March 2016, Ms. Rachael Davey – Director of the International English Centre at Aberystwyth University (Wales) – visited and discussed cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF). She was greeted at UEF’s main campus by its representatives, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Xuan Lam - Vice Chairman of the Board of Director of UEF, together with Dr. Tran Anh Dung – Vice President of UEF, Director of the Institute of International Education and Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Deputy Director of the Institute of International Education.

During the session, UEF’s representatives and Ms.Davey discussed the following main issues:

Student exchange program: Students of UEF can participate in studies and cultural exchange at Aberystwyth University. Vice versa, UEF encouragesAberystwyth University's students to come and study with its students.

Lecturer exchange program: To enhance lecturers’ professional capabilities, UEF and Aberystwyth University will conduct the lecturer exchange program, in which their lecturers engage in teaching at the partner university.

International Semester Program: UEF students can choose among UEF’s partner universities in 10 different countries to experience an international academic environment.

Articulation Program: UEF students can join in and complete their studies overseas at a partner university, where they will receive their degree.

Joint Program: UEF students can receive an internationally recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree without studying abroad.

Additionally, other matters are also brought up at the meeting, such as:

Promote the exchange of academic and curricular programs.

Conduct workshops and seminars.

Facilitating programs for cultural exchange between students from both schools.
Aberystwyth University is among the oldest universities in the UK and the oldest in Wales. It is renowned for being an intensive multidisciplinary research university, ranked in the top 35 in the UK with leading research works. In recent years, Aberystwyth University has attracted a large number of international students studying a wide variety of programs. Some of its more dominant courses are international relations, international politics, computer science, business and management.
