For many youths, working at a multinational corporation has always been their aspiration and motivation to strive. For UEF students, this goal is much easier to accomplish with the already equipped foundation of knowledge, skills, and foreign languages along with the University’s constantly expanding network of partner businesses.

In order to help students obtain an overview of the management job as well as the opportunity to work at the multinational corporation, on the afternoon of January 14th, UEF Center of Business Cooperation has collaborated with Unilever to organize the seminar "Who is fit to become Management Trainee?"

Seminars and talk shows concerning practical careers always attract a large number of students

Unilever is familiar due to its many products that are associated with our daily lives. Each product contains its own story, but they all share the same mission, which is to improve the life quality of Vietnamese households.
The speakers revealed to UEF students that the working environment at Unilever is extremely dynamic, comfortable, with an open design, and capable to maximize each member’s creativity when working here.

Not only the 3rd and 4th-year students but also the 1st and 2nd-year students were interested in the job opportunities at this famous corporation, posing countless questions about Unilever's application procedures, corporate culture, or whether studying in a different major would affect the opportunity to work there, etc. All of which were enthusiastically and openly answered by the speakers.

The students boldly expressed their points of view and constantly raising many interesting questions for the speakers

At the seminar, Unilever brought development programs to the young generation of Vietnamese leaders such as "Talented Trade Supervisor" or "Talented Engineer" and "Management Trainee" with many positions within the fields of Customer Development, Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, etc.
In addition, they also introduced a basic recruitment process, including 5 rounds: CV application, online test, preliminary interview, group work, and final interview round. They also revealed to UEFers that the competitive rate for apprentice positions is very large, but the salary is particularly attractive, which is up to nearly $1200 per month.

To assist the students in better visualizing the journey of a manager-in-training, Ms. Phuong shared that, “You will undergo one week of training, after that, you will become sales staff and distributor managers for 2 to 6 months. Then, you’ll return to the company, going through 2 to 3 rotation cycles in the company’s departments. Finally, you can become a Manager at Unilever in only about 3 years.”

Additionally, the speakers also "unveiled" the qualities that the corporation was looking for from the students, such as progression spirit, humility, soft skills, and a good knowledge foundation. Upon grasping the above criteria, along with the advantages of speaking foreign languages, UEF students can confidently apply for many positions at a large corporation like Unilever.

After the seminar, UEFers certainly must have formed the right "strategies" for the journey to becoming a management trainee with an income of thousands of dollars. Notably, from this collaboration, UEF students would receive huge benefits when shopping for Unilever products through its e-commerce site called Ushop.
