UEF collaborates with the Consul General of Hungary to boost international cultural activities

JULY 19 - UEF welcomed the Consul General of Hungary in HCMC, Mr. Gábor Lehőcz, and his assistant for a meeting. At the event, UEF representatives expressed their desire to promote international collaboration, providing opportunities for UEF staff, faculty members, and students to engage in cultural and academic exchanges with Latin American Spanish speaking countries in general and Hungary in particular.

UEF and the Consul General of Hungary in HCMC explore future collaboration opportunities 


UEF representatives included Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman, Board of Directors; Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Vice President, Board of Management and Director of UEF International Institute; Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Director of UEF Spanish and Latin American Institute; and Mr. Nguyen Huynh Sinh - Deputy Director, Department of Student Services, along with faculty members of UEF International Institute.
 

Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman, Board of Directors welcomed the Consul General of Hungary in HCMC 


In his welcoming speech, Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice Chairman, Board of Directors emphasized the bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Hungary in various fields, such as security - defense, education - training, science - technology, government administration, agriculture, culture - sports - tourism, labor, etc. With the intention of internationalizing education, UEF places significant emphasis on diplomatic activities as well as expands global partnerships. The recent visit of the Consul General of Hungary in HCMC provided a special occasion for UEF to promote further collaboration opportunities in cultural exchange, academic engagement, and education with Hungarian higher institutions.

Mr. Gábor Lehőcz - the Consul General of Hungary in HCMC also expressed his pleasure in visiting and collaborating with UEF. Regarding education, he stressed the Hungarian Government's dedication to offering 200 scholarships to Vietnamese citizens for higher education in Hungary. Moreover, he also mentioned the opportunity of studying abroad in Hungary for Vietnamese students.
 

 Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc provided an overview of UEF


Representing UEF’s Board of Management, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Vice President, Director of UEF International Institute shared an overview of UEF, covering its history of establishment, educational facilities, teaching programs, objectives, strategies, mission, and student activities. Moreover, he also accentuated the goal of educational internationalization and highlighted the key features of UEF's international programs.
 

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet indicated activities to strengthen Hungarian - Vietnam cultural exchanges at UEF 


Regarding cultural exchange activities between Hungary and Vietnam at UEF, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Viet - Director of UEF Spanish and Latin American Institute pointed out the possible initiatives that can be implemented, such as organizing Hungary Week at UEF; inviting Hungarian experts to share insights with UEF's faculty members and students on topics related to bilateral economic cooperation, cultural and educational collaboration, and partnership between Hungary and Vietnam; holding Hungarian movie shows at UEF (as part of the movie week in cooperation with Panama, Spain, and Italy). This is also in conjunction with organizing Ecasa Night - 2023 at UEF, aiming to boost cultural and language exchange between Hungary and Vietnam in general, and with UEF students in particular, as well as to promote trade between Vietnamese and Hungarian businesses in the future.
