UEFers Embrace New Experiences in China, Building International Friendships

At the end of August, two UEF students boarded a flight to China to participate in a student exchange program at Qufu Normal University. After nearly a month of studying and living alongside international friends, they have confidently expressed their individuality, quickly adapted, and actively engaged in various activities at the university.

These students are Tran Ton Anh Thu and Bui Le Nhu Y, both from UEF’s Chinese Language programme, with outstanding academic achievements and GPAs above 3.0/4.0. They received full scholarships to participate in the program. Over a six-month period, from September 2024 to February 2025, they will experience high-quality academic programs in China alongside friends from numerous countries around the world.

UEFers quickly adapt and make friends with international students

In recent times, these two UEFers had the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony alongside international friends at Qufu Normal University. This marked the beginning of their academic journey, opening doors for them to explore and immerse themselves in Chinese culture while connecting with friends from around the world.

Although they had to say goodbye to family and friends to step into a new, challenging environment, Anh Thu and Nhu Y quickly adapted to the pace of life, studies, and student activities in China. Their openness, strong communication skills, and willingness to embrace challenges have helped these UEF students overcome initial unfamiliarity, actively integrating into the academic environment and daily life there. This demonstrates the flexibility of UEF students and their thorough preparation in knowledge and skills before embarking on an international exchange journey.

Anh Thu and Nhu Y's journey in China is not only an academic experience but also an opportunity for them to pursue new goals and challenge themselves in a completely different environment. From attending classes with local students to participating in cultural exchange activities, these experiences will help the two students broaden their perspectives, build essential soft skills, and become cultural ambassadors between the two nations. This is a chance for them to develop comprehensively, enabling them to make positive contributions to the UEFers community upon their return.

Receiving a scholarship for an international exchange program is a proud achievement for both Anh Thu and Nhu Y, showcasing their relentless efforts in studying and personal growth. Behind those impressive GPA numbers lie countless hours of dedication in the classroom, self-study, and practice to enhance their Chinese language skills and specialized knowledge. More than that, winning this scholarship proves that they are pioneers, always seeking opportunities to develop themselves and reach out to an international environment.
