Pursuing the goal of educational internationalization, helping students develop their potential to the fullest to become global citizens have constantly been UEF’s objectives, which the university has  continuously sought and expanded its international partnerships throughout the years. One example of these efforts is the international internship program. More than 60 UEFers going abroad not only receive attention, support, and encouragement from the University and their families but are also provided with all the necessary conditions by business partners.

OCTOBER 3 - UEF sent farewells to two students majoring in Japanese Language departing to the land of cherry blossoms for their internship program at Arima Gyoen Hotel in Kobe. This special journey was accompanied by Mr. Turo Tanabe - Regional Director of Hokkaido, and Mr. Nakayama Ken - Regional Director of Tokyo as a mental supporter.

The international internship trip of UEFers was accompanied by representatives from Japanese businesses

Before their departure, Vo Ngoc Thanh Thuy and Dinh Bao Han were encouraged and seen off by Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong - Director, Center of Corporate Partnerships; Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; faculty and staff from both units, as well as representatives from IFK and their families.

Mr. Turo, who accompanied the UEFers to Japan this time and had carefully supported them on prior excursions, claimed that the students' ability to use Japanese language had improved since the first trips. In addition, he said that during the internship period, the organization will provide the best support to ensure that the students have a favorable learning experience. The key is that the students need to maintain a positive working attitude, and the businesses will assist them in dealing with any problems.

Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong and Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than shared their experiences about the internship process and the success of previous trips to the parents

In detail, Vo Ngoc Thanh Thuy and Dinh Bao Han, both majoring in Japanese Language, are senior and junior undergraduates, respectively. With their Japanese language proficiency all reached N3 level, they excellently passed the previous interview round with the Japanese employer. For Bao Han, she had already been to this country three times. Therefore, this internship trip did not encounter too many surprises for them.

Sharing about this trip, Thanh Thuy confided: "During the internship, I hope to accumulate more life experience and understand more about Japanese working style and culture, as well as practice Japanese to improve my language competency. Since this is my first time being away from home, I do feel sad, but this will be a motivation to complete my internship successfully and soon return to see my grandmother and my parents”.

UEFers cherished their time with family before the departure

Ms. Thu Ha, Thanh Thuy's mother, said: “I’m so happy for her yet a little worried since Thuy is the only child and has always been under family’s protection, but now she is going far away from us. However, seeing the university and partners’ caring and companionship for my daughter, I feel more at ease now. Her grandma was afraid of missing her grandchild, so today she didn't come to say goodbye".

The students will engage in a full-year internship at the Arima Gyoen Hotel (Kobe)

The close cooperation of businesses with the support from the University, and the expectations of the family will become the driving force for students to successfully complete their internship. On the journey in Japan, students are expected to gain more knowledge and experience in both their social and language skills, which will be helpful for their futures.
