14 UEF students interview for Japanese internships, expanding international employment opportunities

With a business connection network that is constantly expanding both domestically and internationally, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) has made a great contribution in providing internship opportunities and high-quality jobs, thus "fueling" the dream of numerous generations of students to achieve global success. 

JUNE 29 - In line with fostering an upbeat environment, the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures UEF collaborated with IFK partner to interview students for an internship program at Lotte Arai Resort - Japan. This activity once again affirms the strong cooperative relationship between UEF and prestigious partners in the world. The interview proceeded successfully with the participation of 14 UEF students.

From UEF, accompanying and supporting the students were Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Culture and Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong Director, Center of Corporate Relations.

On Japanese side, the interview representatives were Mr. Kouta Kato Management Support Team/Human Resources and General Affairs, Lotte Arai Resort; and Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh   Director of IFK.

Before beginning, students took turns introducing themselves to give interviewers a better understanding of their profile. Throughout the interview process, the Japanese representatives consistently created a relaxed atmosphere, which provided an optimal environment for students to showcase their strengths. Most questions revolved around the issues related to the hospitality industry, as well as Japanese culture and society. The representatives attentively listened to each response and offered constructive feedback to assist students in enhancing their performance.

Equipped with thorough knowledge and the ability to use Japanese fluently, the students generally proved themselves and made a good impression on the employers. In particular, some students received high praise from partners for their confident demeanor and excellent communication skills.

Le Thao Gia Quyen a third-year Japanese Language student, expressed that this was her first time being interviewed by a foreign company. About this interesting experience, she shared: “I would like to express my gratitude to the school for consistently providing us with ample opportunities to learn and develop ourselves. Through the interview, I gained valuable insights into the entire recruitment process, including effective techniques for asking and answering professional interview questions. Regardless of the outcome, I'm very happy and satisfied."

The internship program at Lotte Arai Resort hotel includes various roles related to the hospitality industry such as Ensuring the quality and facilities of the bedrooms are always clean, hygienic and well-prepared; Maintaining cleanliness of common areas;  Serving customers; Stores management;... 

In addition, you will have the opportunity to experience Japanese culture; learn to prepare Japanese cuisine; gain practical skills such as fire prevention, natural disaster response, and hygiene management; engage in cultural exchange and practical Japanese language study.

In the upcoming time, the company plans to recruit 4 female students for an internship period that lasts for 9 months. Before the interview, all of the candidates have already met the requirements of having Japanese language level equivalent to N3.

This program not only allows the participants to develop professional skills and Japanese language proficiency but also provides an insight into the fascinating aspects of Japanese culture. In particular, students with excellent performance during the internship might be offered full-time positions with competitive salaries and benefits.
