07/20/2023

JULY 16 and 17, after the introduction series regarding the international exchange program “Bridge to Keimyung Camp 2023” (Daegu, South Korea), the UEF student delegation participated in a variety of distinctive activities on July 18. UEFers had the chance to enjoy the performance of the Keimyung University Taekwondo team, visit the Haengso Museum, and take part in Samulnori traditional art activities.

UEFers and students from other universities participating in the international program were able to practice Taekwondo martial arts beforehand under the instruction of skilled masters. Right after that, the students were mesmerized by the Keimyung University Taekwondo team's excellent martial arts performances. The performances were meticulously prepared and diligently practiced to deliver decisive and powerful moves, promoting the distinctive martial arts culture of South Korea to international friends.

The UEF delegation then visited the Haengso Museum, located on the Keimyung University campus. The students learned about the history of Korea and the Ulsan region through explanations provided by the museum's staff. They observed a variety of paintings, photos, artifacts and models for the first time in person.

UEFers also explored the significance of various patterns such as dragon, phoenix, and lotus motifs adorned the displayed pottery. After that, they received a ceramic vase to decorate with their own creativity and kept those as souvenirs.

Additionally, the student also explored and experienced a distinctive traditional Korean art form - Samulnori. This is a combination of dancing, singing, and rhythms created by four traditional Korean musical instruments, performed by four musicians on stage. The Professor from the Keimyung Art Center gave UEF students instructions on how to utilize these musical instruments as well. Thus, they began to practice and presented a brief performance. This activity was quite engaging, offering the students valuable hands-on experiences.

They could explore and enjoy themselves freely, engaging in a variety of captivating and distinctive games that are exclusively available at E-World.

The international exchange program will continue in the upcoming days with various activities. Hopefully, UEF students can learn more and gain valuable experiences to enrich their understanding. These forthcoming activities will be updated, so let's eagerly await and see what unfolds!
