“Green Summer” Campaign - UEF Youth Uninion

Anually, summer time is the ocassion for students to participate in community activities. Following up the tradition and strength of UEF youth, this year 2015, The Youth Union of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) enjoy the lively atmosphere of peace and full of enthusiasm of Youth in whole country to conduct the Campaign called “Green Summer". The main activity is "towards the Countrysite "to help people in remote areas and the areas that are still in difficult deprivation.
The Campaign will be lauched at Lap Vo Dist, Dong Thap Province, District 1 and Binh Thanh District of Ho Chi Minh City. The meaningful summer activities will take place from July 19th, 2015 to August 30th, 2015.

UEF students actively involved in volunteering for community

This year, there are over 200 volunteers come from different teams to participate the Campaign. They are well prepared with skills of daily life, working, culture and communication in dealing with local people. They are all ready to go to every part of the country to share, help the lives of local people in different ways; building houses, bridges, growing plants, examining and giving the medication to children and the elderly. The volunteers are to cultivate a lot of skills to be able to ensure safety during the trip. The most important thing is to ensure the health and safety of lives, the volunteers also practiced CPR skills and first aid skills otherwise.
They also have meaniful activities in downtown such as cleaning the garbages on the streets, at the beach to protect the enviroment or helping foreign Tourists by giving directions, going across the streets.
Purpose and meaning of “Green Summer”:
“Green Summer” is the name of a chain of summer volunteer programs of UEF Youth Union. The main activity is "Towards the Countryside", meaning that the volunteer teams of the UEF Youth Union, fraternity members, and the clubs in the Univeristy will go to the regions, remote places of the country to help the people here in different activities. Summer volunteer campaign is not only an opportunity for students to devote their youth and their enthusiasm in volunteering for the community but also is a term meaning the union of fetters, in the youth field, the responsibility of young people today in the social community.
