UEF starts the Opening Ceremony of UK Bachelor’s programme of the academic year 2018/2019

On 27th October 2018, the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of the UK Bachelor’s Program between UEF and the University of Gloucesterhire (UK) at UEF Auditorium Hall.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Tuyet Do - Deputy Director – Representative of Ministry of Education and Training; H.E. Neill James - Deputy Consul General of the British Consulate General HCMC; Prof. Nadine Sulkowski - International Lead of University of Gloucestershire; representatives of organizations, enterprises, faculty leaders, lecturers and freshmen of the Gloucestershire Bachelor's Programme 2018.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Loc Do, Director of International Institute, made the opening speech and emphasized the rapid development of the University of Gloucesterhire Bachelor’s programme at UEF in the last two years. This programme is a great way for students who wish to experience either international programme in Vietnam or choose a 2+ 2 or 3 + 1 articulation programme in the UK or other international universities in the world.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Tuyet Do, representative of Ministry of Education and Training stated: "In the past 11 years, the Ministry of Education and Training always appreciate the education quality of Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance. This is one of the prominent universities with international collaborative training activities. The Ministry of Education and Training also hopes that in the future, UEF and the University of Gloucestershire will strengthen cooperation in student exchange programs, international semesters and lecturer exchanges, asserting the position of UEF in the education system in Vietnam and in the world. "

Prof. Nadine Sulkowski, International Lead of the University of Gloucestershire, also reminded students at the ceremony: "The University of Gloucestershire is always open to all students. The university has been cooperating with international training for more than 10 years and in UEF this is the second generation of the British Bachelor's programme. University of Gloucestershire will continue to promote cooperation and send more lecturers to the UEF to provide more specialized knowledge and skills to students enrolled in the programme."

Also in the opening ceremony, new students discussed and listened sincerely from Helly Tong - a successful young entrepreneur, Ambassador of Vietnam for the programme Design For Change. According to her, in the 4.0 era there are many ways for young people to follow their passion. Happiness is very important and to achieve it, students need to understand themselves, care about sustainable development and build a positive life by themselves. Always think about the good things in life, which will be the driving forces for you to study and succeed in the future.

On this occasion, new students also learned how to improve English to prepare for the new school year from James DrinkWater from the British Council. With the topic "How to improve your English via Online Learning", the speaker introduced many effective learning English to students.
