A jump start on an semesters abroad in South Korea

August 26 to September 1, the representatives of the Faculty of International Languages and Cultures and UEF International Institute paid a visit to Korean partner universities with the aim of taking UEFers for semesters abroad. 

On the first day of the trip, the UEF representative, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, visited the International Graduate School of English in Seoul. The welcoming partner was Mr. Gu Bonseog - Head of Korean-Vietnamese Interpreting and Translation, Head of External Relations Department, and international relations specialists. The two parties exchanged information related to short-term exchange programs for students studying English and Korean.

UEF Korean Language students participating in the semester abroad in South Korea also paid a visit to universities and prepared for their study time. 

On August 28, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh and Mr. Choi Young Taek had a meeting with Chungbuk University representatives. The two parties discussed the results of the programs that have been implemented in the academic year 2021-2022. In addition, the Korean partner also offered to organize more worthwhile programs for UEFers majoring in the Korean Language. Also, there were Boi Linh and Xuan Diep from UEF engaging in the exchange program. 

Anh Thu and Hoai Nam were taken to Busan University of Foreign Studies by Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Mr. Choi Young Taek, and Ms. Huynh Tu Anh - Deputy Director of the UEF International Institute, to take a tour of the campus and get ready for the upcoming semesters abroad.

Keimyung University is the next destination to welcome UEFers. UEF representatives and two UEFers, Ha Phuong and Tuan Huy, visited the university. During the meeting, the representatives of Keimyung University shared the pleasure cooperating with UEF. After the official launching of the semester abroad, the two parties will further discuss more programs, which are not only for Korean language students but also for UEFers. Besides the study programs, cultural experience programs or Korean student experience programs, etc. be put on the table combining Korean colors, and Vietnamese culture.

During this business trip, UEF also worked with Chungcheong Province on exchanging and cooperating programs. There was Ms. Hong Man-pyo - Director for Asia Team, International Cooperation & Trade Division and related officials, representing Chungcheong Province, added that interdisciplinary exchange with UEF will be the foundation for expanding human resource exchange and technology after the Covid - 19 pandemic period.  

Furthermore, the Chungcheong Provincial Delegation is expected to visit UEF this September as well as discuss cultural exchange programs between Chungcheong City Youth and UEFers.

Hence, Korean Language students are ready to join the semesters abroad in the Land of Kimchi. There is hope that UEFers will have a memorable time studying and experiencing in Korea. The business trip of the UEF delegation also promises to open various quality cooperation programs for students in the future.
