Birmingham City University (BCU) visits and works with UEF

On 17 March, 2016, Mr. Gabriel Ceballos – Assistant Director of International Strategic Alliances at Birmingham City University (UK) - visited and discussed cooperation and development with the University of Economics and Finance. UEF’s Vice President Dr. Tran Anh Dung – also Director of the Institute of International Education at UEF – greeted and worked with Mr. Ceballos at the main campus.

During the session, Dr. Tran Anh Dung and Mr. Ceballos discussed the following main issues:

Expand the strategic cooperation between the two universities.

Develop programs for student exchange and academic exchange.

Seek opportunities for cooperation and research exchange.

Further promote the International Program of UEF.

Student exchange program: Students of UEF can participate in studies and cultural exchange at Utica College. Vice versa, UEF encourages Utica students to come and study with its students.

Lecturer exchange program: To enhance lecturers’ professional capabilities, UEF and Utica will conduct the lecturer exchange program, in which their lecturers engage in teaching at the partner university.

International Semester Program: UEF students can choose among UEF’s partner universities in 10 different countries to experience an international academic environment.

Articulation Program: UEF students can join in and complete their studies overseas at a partner university, where they will receive their degree.

Joint Program: UEF students can receive an internationally recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree without studying abroad.

Birmingham City University (BCU) was founded in 1843. It is a highly ranked university with 25,000 students, 2,500 of which are international students from 80 countries. BCU offers more than 300 courses with a wide range of majors for students to choose from. Lecturers in art, design, education, music and healthcare are ranked excellent by The Sunday Times. The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) has awarded Birmingham City Business School Platinum Level Status – the highest level of accreditation for ACCA courses delivered by a university. According to Guardian University Guide, the Faculty of Technology, Innovation and Development (TID) is ranked among the top ten university faculties in the UK. Courses in Mechanical Engineering takes first place in The Times Good Guide University 2009. Students taking a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB Law) do their internship in the US for 6 to 8 weeks, earning work experience in American law offices. BCU ranks as the top research institute according to RAE’s standards.
