Expanding international learning opportunities for UEFers with Busan University of Foreign Studies

OCTOBER 11 - This afternoon witnessed a meeting between representatives from the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures and Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS), Korea, opening up several learning opportunities for UEF students. 

The meeting involved Ms. Jeong Myung Suk – Head and Mr. Park Jae Yeong, Department of International Cooperation, representing Busan University of Foreign Studies. From UEF, there were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President & Director, UEF International Institute, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh – Deputy Director, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, Ms. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Director, UEF International Institute, Mr. Choi Young Taek – Korean Language Lecturer, and Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu – Assistant Head, Korean Language Department.

Busan University of Foreign Studies (BUFS) was established in 1981. This is a private university specializing in foreign languages operated by Seongji Academy. BUFS is currently one of the best foreign language universities in the land of Kimchi.

In the first meeting, given an general overview of UEF delivered by Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh – Vice Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, two BUFS representatives were impressed and showed their appreciation toward facilities and the learning environment of UEF’s two campuses. In addition, UEF’s education quality, students’ attitudes and talents are significant advantages that earn great recognition from its partners.

This visit, BUFS representatives also introduced an overview of their university as well as bringing the right study programs for UEF students. Not only specializes in providing programs in Korean, the university also has a variety of programs in Japanese and Chinese, Global Human Convergence, Global Business, Creativity & Convergence, Global Information Technology, and several master’s and doctoral programs. With modern facilities and programs ranked in the top universities in Korea, diverse student activities, and valuable scholarships, UEF students will be granted opportunities to exchange and study abroad.

BUFS and UEF had discussions and exchanges about cooperation programs in the near future

At the meeting, the two universities had frankly raised lots of viewpoints and perspectives. Although they draw some differences in culture and teaching methodology, they all desire to bring values to students. The meeting ended successfully, paving the way for future international exchange, student exchange or articulation programs between the two universities. Students who wish to study in Korea can update themselves with the university’s news so as not to miss the opportunity to study abroad.
