Plus 3 Study Abroad program comes back, UEF students actively apply for volunteers

04/04/2024

Driven by a desire to learn, practice foreign languages, and connect with international friends, many UEF students applied for volunteer positions for the “Plus 3 Study Abroad program”. This is an activity organized by UEF in collaboration with the University of Pittsburgh (Pitt) in the United States. In two consecutive years, 2018 - 2019, Plus 3 Program coordinated by Pitt and UEF was held successfully, leaving lasting impressions and memories for students from both universities. After a four-year hiatus, the program will restart in May 2024.

APRIL 4 - The interview for volunteer positions also took place. A volunteer team consisting of 20 students will be selected to support welcoming, farewell, and parallel events throughout the program. The representatives of UEF International Institute interviewing students included Dr. Nguyen Hong Nhung - Deputy Director, UEF International Institute along with members of the Organizing Committee.

During the interview, the students answered the questions in bilingual formats, demonstrating their enthusiasm and desire to further develop their skills, make new friends, and experience new things through the program. Additionally, this is an opportunity to showcase the positive traits of UEF students in particular, and Vietnam’s cultural charm in general, to international peers.

Inheriting the characteristics that contributed to the success of the previous year, some activities of Plus 3 Program are still being retained and implemented similarly. At the same time, many new initiatives will be added to increase diversity and innovation. In the trend of international integration, aiming for sustainable value, the theme of the upcoming program will be changed compared to previous years. The activities will focus on globalization and sustainable development.

Numerous interesting activities of PLus 3 Program serve as a connection between UEF and Pitt students

According to the plan, knowledge about sustainable development will be provided to students participating in the program by experienced economic experts. Alongside this, there will be field trips to explore Vietnamese tourism and culture. Additionally, various activities for exchange, practice, and study of new knowledge will be organized.

Through the program, UEF and Pitt students will have memorable moments, strengthen the connections between the two universities, and especially diversify activities that help UEFers pursue the goal of becoming global citizens.
