Youngstown State University, US University proposes academic cooperation with UEF

OCTOBER 5 - UEF had a meeting with Youngstown State University (YSU) - USA to discuss potential international programs for students.

The meeting involved Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President & Director, UEF International Institute, Dr. Ly Thien Trang – Vice President, Ms. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Director, UEF International Institute.

Dr. Nate Myers – Associate Provost International Initiatives, YSU, and Ms. Le Bao Tien – YSU Representative in Vietnam.

Before discussing the contents of cooperation, Dr. Nate Myers presented highlights about YSU such as affordable tuition fees, quality curriculum, various internship opportunities, good student support services, especially for transfer students, and secure dormitories with high quality and low fees.

Moreover, YSU representatives offered information about Bachelor's degree and Master's degree programs, internship, 5-level ESL programs and a myriad of programs for transfer students.

Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc and Dr. Ly Thien Trang spoke of UEF’s academic programs and international collaborative programs.

Manifold potential international programs for students were discussed 

YSU representatives said that the majority of the international transfer students at YSU were Vietnamese, even the president of the Student Government Association. They all were energetic, diligent and actively participated in extracurricular activities.

After discussion, two sides decided to promote cooperation in the fields of international articulation program, short-term student exchange, faculty exchange and considered cooperation in other areas.

Cooperation agreement between the two universities will be promoted in the future

YSU representatives toured around UEF’s learning space and facilities after the meeting. With the discussed contents, the UEF-YSU cooperation agreement is expected to promote and bring appropriate and quality programs for students.
