Coming to this country has been my dream for a long time. Now that dream has come true, words can simply not describe how I feel right now. Besides joy, I am also very nervous and worried. I'm worried that I won't be able to adapt to life  as well as the upcoming work. I’m also worried as I have not had many opportunities to directly communicate with natives. However, I will try my best to complete the internship," confided Nguyen Pham Anh Thu.

Anh Thu and her mother shared their feelings, pride and expectations in the upcoming journey

Above all, parents are the ones who carry the most concerns. Worried about her child living and working far away from home, Mrs. Phan Thi Kim Thuy (Anh Thu's mother) shared: “I’ve always been supportive of my children. Although her journey brings about many worries, my daughter is lucky to have the opportunity to improve her knowledge and to learn more about their profession. I’m very happy about that. I hope that Thu will take her responsibilities and roles seriously. Thu has 3 younger brothers, so I hope Thu will strive and become a good role model for her younger siblings to follow.”

Seeing her grandson happy when he was accepted into the internship programme in Japan, Mrs. Dang Thi Thoi – Nhat Phu's maternal grandmother also expressed: “I was over the moon to hear that my grandson will be able to intern practice in Japan. I don’t have much to worry about as my grandson is in university and is able to go abroad to learn more now. I am more happy than worried. Seeing that many of Phu's friends came to see him off, and also many of his Japan accompanies, I have peace of mind."

UEF faculty members lecturers sent encouragement to parents and students

Perhaps the biggest concern among all of the students participating in this internship is the large amount of time needed to readjust to the new life. Nguyen Nhat Phu shared: “I still have my insecurities about how to adapt to my new life and a new job. Life in Vietnam is quite comfortable, when I come to Japan, I probably need a lot of time to get used to everything."

All are determined to perform well in the internship before "taking flight"

The internship with exotic knowledge and experiences is waiting for them. Be resilient, be bold and apply all the knowledge and skills learned at the school to flawlessly accomplish your goals, UEFers!
