UEF PROMOTES COOPERATION WITH RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS AND ENTERPRISES FROM CHUNGBUK PROVINCE, KOREA

AUGUST 26. UEF welcomed and held a working session with a delegation comprising local government officials, research institutes, and enterprises from Chungbuk Province (Korea). The event facilitated discussions on opportunities for cooperation in education, internships, research, and innovation projects, thereby helping to expand international exposure for UEF students.

The working session contributed to expanding the university's network of Korean partners and creating opportunities for international experiences for UEFers

Welcoming the international delegation were Dr. Ngo Minh Hai, Vice President; Dr. Pham Thi Thuy Linh, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Languages ​​and International Cultures; Ms. Nguyen Thai Ha, Deputy Director of the Center for Corporate Relations; and Dr. Kim Du Won, Lecturer in Korean Language.

The delegation from Chungbuk Province was Shin Do Young—Administrative Officer, Chungbuk Provincial Government, along with the representative of the Chungbuk Research Institute, Korea Automotive Technology Institute, Chungbuk Technopark, and enterprises including ITDA Communication, Ltd., Sungwoo Motors, Ltd., Eurochemical, Ltd., Dong Ha Precision, Ltd., Hyundai Sungwoo Casting, Ltd., and D&A Motors, Ltd.

Dr. Ngo Minh Hai delivered welcoming remarks to the delegation and introduced UEF.

During the meeting, UEF representatives provided an overview of the university, its educational direction, and ongoing international cooperation activities. This gave the delegation insight into the university's internationally oriented educational environment and corporate network, as well as opportunities to develop collaborative programs that meet the needs of both parties.

In fostering partnerships with Korea, UEF has implemented various cultural exchange and academic collaboration initiatives, alongside co-organizing international events. These connections serve as a foundation for the university to further expand its partner network and bring students closer to multicultural learning, working, and exchange environments.

Key topics of mutual interest included the development of programs allowing UEF students to gain firsthand experience of the academic and professional landscape in Chungbuk. The parties discussed the potential for UEF students to undertake internships at research institutes, as well as opportunities for student exchanges and study programs at universities in Chungbuk.

For Korean Language majors, connecting with businesses in Chungbuk offered tangible career prospects. Students gained opportunities to engage with the Korean corporate environment, understand workforce demands, and hone their translation and interpretation skills amidst the expanding trade relations between Vietnam and Korea.

Beyond education and workforce development, the discussion also addressed potential collaboration in innovative startups and green environmental projects aimed at sustainable development.

For UEF, every international connection is expected to create concrete opportunities for students throughout their academic and professional journeys. Today’s initial discussions will serve as a foundation for both parties to further concretize cooperative programs in the near future.
