SEPTEMBER 28, UEF held a welcoming and working session with the leadership delegation of the University of Gloucestershire (UoG), a partner of the UEF international joint programmes. The meeting was intended to review the implemented collaborative programmes and discuss strategies for partnership development in the next phase.
The leadership delegation from UoG included Dame Clare Marchant, Vice-Chancellor; Prof Angus Pryor, Head of School - Creative Arts, Culture and Environment, Executive Dean - Research; Ms Alex Cottrell, Head of External Relationships; and Mr Daniel Ramsay, Head of Academic Registry.
Representing UEF to welcome the delegation were Dr Kiều Xuân Hùng, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Prof. Dr Bùi Xuân Lâm, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors; Dr Đỗ Hữu Nguyên Lộc, Vice President; Dr Ngô Minh Hải, Vice President; Prof. Dr Eric Jose Olmedo Panal, Director of the UEF International Institute; Assoc. Prof. Dr Nguyễn Thành Luân, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and International Projects; and Ms Trần Phương Quỳnh, Mr Nguyễn Bá Anh, and Mr Trần Lưu Phương Nam, deputy directors of the UEF International Institute.
A special highlight of the event was the working session between leaders of UoG and the UEF Board of Management. During the meeting, both sides focused on reviewing the implemented collaborative programmes and discussing new directions to leverage each side’s strengths. The discussion aims at expanding cooperation in international education, fostering academic connections, and increasing students’ opportunities for international learning and experiences.
In addition to the working session with the leadership, the delegation from UoG had professional exchanges with the leaders of the UEF International Institute and relevant units of UEF. The experiences gained from the implemented collaborative programmes are the foundation for both universities to assess, improve, and develop suitable directions for the next phase.
During the trip to UEF, the leadership delegation from UoG had a chance to visit the facilities and learning space at UEF, which provided them with a closer view of the education environment, learning life, and activities for students.
The event was also highlighted with the interactive sharing sessions between Dame Clare Marchant, President of UoG, and students of the international bachelor’s programmes. This occasion brought leaders of both universities closer to their learners, allowing them to listen to students’ experiences and perspectives on the international programmes they are pursuing.
The visit and the working session of the delegation from the University of Gloucestershire at UEF strengthened the partnership between the two universities and opened up opportunities for international cooperation in training and academic activities. This will facilitate UEF students’ engagement in integrating educational programmes and diversify their learning experiences in international environments.
