UEF signs MOU with Mataram University - Indonesia, fostering research and academic exchange

AUGUST 3, UEF welcomed the delegation from Mataram University (UNRAM, Indonesia) this morning to discuss international exchange directions and sign the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The meeting opened up various collaboration opportunities in training, scientific research, and academic exchange between the two universities.

The delegation from UNRAM included Dr. Sitti Latifah - Vice Rector for Planning, Cooperation, and Information Systems; Dr. I Wayan Agus Arimbawa - Director of the Office of International Affairs; Dr. Ihsan Ro'is - Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business; and Prof. Dr. Embun Suryani - Vice Dean for Academic Affairs at the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Attending the meeting, on behalf of UEF, were Dr. Nhan Cẩm Trí - Vice President, Dr. Đỗ Thị Thu Hà - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Ms. Hoàng Mi - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Ms. Hoàng Thị Hằng - Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, and Ms. Nguyễn Thái Hà - Deputy Director of the Center of Corporate Relations.

To commence the meeting, Dr. Nhan Cẩm Trí gave an overview of UEF and shared the international development orientation and the training curriculum system as well as the collaboration activities with universities and businesses around the world. UEF representatives also emphasised the strategies of building a multicultural learning environment and creating opportunities for students to approach international exchange programs, study, and intern abroad during their university life.

In return, representatives from Mataram University presented their training strengths, enrollment scale, and ongoing international programs. Noticeably, the partner university shared about their training system for international students with a wide range of options from undergraduate, master, and doctoral levels to short-term programs, internships, student exchanges, and international scholarships. UNRAM also introduced their implementation roadmap for Joint Degree and Double Degree programs along with the vision of expanding collaboration in fields of research, community service, and lecturers’ research competence enhancement.

During the meeting, both sides focused on discussing many potential cooperation contents, such as lecturer and student exchange, organizing international semesters, internships, co-lecturing online classes, scientific research, co-hosting international conferences, and so on. These are activities that align with the development orientation of both universities and, at the same time, offer students international learning and experience opportunities.

The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere with the practical sharing about deployment methods of the collaborated programs, from building training curriculums and academic connections to developing mutual research projects. Both sides proceeded to sign the MOU, creating the foundation for more specific cooperative activities in the future.

The meeting of MOU signing with Mataram University continued to expand UEF’s international partner network, contributing to diversifying opportunities of learning, researching, and  academic exchange for lecturers and students. Simultaneously, this is a crucial step in the internationalization strategy, helping UEF to enhance the training quality, connecting with global resources, and providing learners with integrating learning experiences.
