09/06/2023

SEPTEMBER 5 - the UEF International Institute organized an orientation session for nine UEFers participating in the international exchange program in China. The purpose of this activity was to provide the students with an overview of the program and prepare them for a meaningful and enriching semester abroad.

Over the years, UEF's student exchange and international semester programs have brought a significant number of UEFers to various countries, including South Korea, Japan, the United States, Thailand, and more. These programs have also welcomed numerous student delegations from Germany, the UK, France, Poland, and other countries.

The students will depart for China this September

In the list of nine students participating this time, three of them will study at Qufu Normal University, and the other six will study at Guangxi University for Nationalities. They are all third and fourth-year students majoring in Chinese Language. This program starts in September 2023 and ends in February 2024.

The orientation session for students participating in the international exchange program with universities in China featured the participation and sharing of Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President, Board of Management, and Director,  UEF International Institute; Dr. Nguyen Hong Nhung – Deputy Director, UEF International Institute; and Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan – Deputy Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc congratulated the nine students and shared some information about this program. He recently had a trip to China and recounted his impressive experiences to the students, providing UEFers with a better understanding of the country. As UEFers are known for their vibrant spirit and passion for learning, he believed that all nine students would gain valuable knowledge during their trip. He also encouraged the students to make the most of this opportunity, particularly in terms of language learning.

Lecturers shared information about the program with the students

Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan emphasized that this was an opportunity for UEFers to understand the customs and cultures of the language they were studying. She hoped that, through this international semester, all nine students would become more confident and resilient before graduating. She encouraged, “Remember to take care of your health, be proactive in your studies, and quickly adapt to the new environment and life.” She also reminded students to be mindful of weather and environmental conditions, guiding them to prepare essential items for the upcoming five months.

UEFers had all their questions answered before departure

During the orientation session, UEFers were also clarified on matters related to procedures, documents, and contacts for their arrival in China. Also, the students asked questions about the program, and the teachers provided detailed answers. With their concerns addressed, they are now fully prepared to engage in international activities.

We wish all students a fruitful academic journey and successfully complete the exchange program with many new experiences in China.
