12/15/2021

Industry 4.0 has brought Financial Technology (FinTech) more popularity in the banking industry, with several benefits for customers. Deputy Director of the UEF International Institute Dr. Pham Thi Anh Ngoc was the keynote speaker at the co-teaching class held on December 6th. The major goal of this class was to provide information on "Financial Technology: The Future of Finance" to students at the University of Padjadjaran, Indonesia.

The co-teaching class featured lecturers from UEF and the University of Padjadjaran

The co-teaching lesson had the presence of lecturers, students of UEF, and the University of Padjadjaran, Indonesia. Through the online platform, Dr. Anh Ngoc presented an overview of FinTech, current applications, benefits of FinTech applications, future trends, challenges, and opportunities in this field. Meanwhile, Dr. Anh Ngoc also emphasized the applicability of Fintech in the banking system, managing the traceability of agricultural product chains in Vietnam.

According to Dr. Anh Ngoc, Fintech trends in the banking field are often divided into two groups based on themes. The first group includes final goods, digital tools and other technologies which are used to improve personal loan processes, manage currencies, and startup sponsorships. The second group comprises “back-office” technology products to support the operation of Fintechs and financial institutions.

More than 150 students attended the co-teaching class

Dr. Ngoc, with her profound experience in researching and interviewing experts who have at least 5 years working in the field, introduced several popular and promising Fintech trends such as digital currencies, payment gateway, mobile payment, budgeting app, peer to peer lending, and blockchain.

Prior to the class, Dr. Pham Thi Anh Ngoc had covered major technical concerns and the development of new Fintech talents.

Each form of financial technology has its own advantages and operational features. Financial technology was developed to address financial issues that could not be solved using traditional approaches. Despite their use, these technologies come with certain risks that users should be aware of.

Having helped consolidate students’ knowledge about FinTech, the co-teaching class, where the lecturer freely discussed with foreign students, enhanced the worldwide reputation of the University. UEFers who attended the class had a great chance to prove their English proficiency as well as their proactivity when studying in an international environment like UEF.
