04/13/2023

Students’ extensive knowledge and flexible problem-solving skills are the outstanding results of studying and practicing in such a dynamic international environment.  In this day and age of global integration, students can open up valuable career opportunities due to various school activities.

The University of Economics and Finance of Ho Chi Minh City (UEF) not only implements international curricula to enhance students’ foreign language skills, but it also sets up frequent extracurricular activities for their students to experience a diverse international training.

A number of cultural exchange activities usually held at UEF

Students can have chances to enjoy themselves in exploring and learning unique cultures from different countries thanks to these activities, which involve various cultural and culinary exchange events, folk games, and, especially, performances imbued with each region’s culture.

Recently, there have been some Hispanic events, which broaden UEFers' horizons with impressive art exhibitions and deep insights about cultures, famous landmarks, cuisine and traditional costumes from different nations, such as Spain, Chile, Cuba, Panama, Argentina, etc.

Diverse foreign cultures are explored throughout various events

In a similar fashion, the Thai Food Culture Festival organized this early April was meticulously prepared from dishes, costumes, etc. to the tiniest ornaments. Thai traditional activities and games like bamboo dance, were also perfectly recreated.

Earlier, during the Irish Culture Festival, students also learned about the country renowned as the “Silicon Valley of Europe”. Besides, there were plenty of convention booths promoting cultures, sports and trading, etc. Particularly, there was a cooperative program between businesses from the two countries.

Exchange quintessences between different cuisines

Korean Culture Week remarkably added exceptional global cultural elements to the UEF as well. During this week, the students immersed themselves in the "Kimchi Festival", experienced wearing traditional Korean costumes, participated in K-movie-making workshops, learned more about the Korean entertainment industry with K-Pop classes, etc.

Following that, UEF students had the opportunity to "travel" through various Southeast Asian cultural regions during the ASEAN Culture Festival. Each convention booth symbolized a different nation in the locale by displaying its famous beauty spots, prominent architecture, traditional dishes and costumes. Furthermore, there was also firsthand experience of donning traditional clothes and eating the rich variety of specialties from other countries in the region.

The Culture Festival contains a lot of interesting sub-activities

In addition to those big events,  art contests and activities honoring the traditional allure of nations, such as Vietnam-China Arts Competitions, K-Chum Festival, K-Trot, the Color of Japanese Culture Contest and the like, are held on a regular basis, creating a pleasant exchange environment for students.

Along with the process of equipping professional knowledge, skills and foreign languages, cultural exchanges throughout countries and regions have contributed to broadening worldwide perspectives and boosting students’ integration capability. With this outside–of–class experience which brings about significant spiritual international culture value, students can be enriched with numerous practical and useful experiences on their learning journeys.
