Deputy Consulates of Laos visit UEF and Lao exchange students before Lunar New Year

JANUARY 24 - Ms. Vongphan Phomphiphack - Lao Deputy Consulate of Education and Culture had a meeting with UEF International Institute, to stay on top of Lao undergraduates’ academic performance here. She also gave the students, who are spending Tet holiday in Vietnam, some gifts to be part of their new year celebration.

The event featured Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - UEF Vice President and Director, UEF International Institute; Ms. Huynh Tu Anh - Deputy Director, UEF International Institute; Mr. Le Dung - Director, Department of Academic Services; Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen - Dean, Faculty of International Relations, Mr. Phuoc Lan - Deputy Director, UEF Center of IT and Foreign Languages; Mr. Bui Quang Dong – Director, Department of Student Services. 

UEF welcomed Ms. Vongphan Phomphiphack - Deputy Consulate of Laos

Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc started the event with UEF's goal of internationalization in education, stressing that the University always facilitates and provides valuable scholarships for international students to study under the exchange programs.

Mr. Le Dung added that UEF currently has 32 Lao students studying in the faculties of International Relations, Economics, Law, Tourism and Hospitality Management. Even though Lao students faced some language barriers at first, they have overcome all setbacks and learned much better after emerging themselves in the learning environment while receiving helpful support from lecturers. 

Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc sent gifts to Ms. Vongphan Phomphihack

At the meeting, UEF introduced the new undergraduate program for foreign students and the full-tuition scholarship program for the majors of Vietnamese Studies and English Language. After the Faculty members fished their sharings, Ms. Vongphan Phomphiphack expressed her confidence in the University and its high-quality undergraduate program. She made some further suggestions to help render the program of UEF more popular to Lao students.

 

Dr. Nhan Cam Tri sent Happy New Year wishes to Lao students

 

The representative of the Board of Directors, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President of the University, sent his Tet greetings to Lao students at the event, wishing them an impressive and meaningful Vietnamese traditional New Year holiday.

Students participated in a quiz game on the customs of the traditional Tet in Vietnam

 

As part of the program, Lao students participated in a quiz game to enhance their understanding of Tet holiday customs and cultures, such as Land Genie and Kitchen God, Earthbender, lucky money, etc. Phainam Phiouvanna - a senior year international law student - represented Lao students to send Tet greetings in Vietnamese to all UEFers.

UEF gave gifts to Lao students in the hope that they can celebrate a truly meaningful Tet holiday in Vietnam. Lao students also presented a flower basket with New year’s wishes to UEF.

The intimate meeting with Ms. Vongphan Phomphiphack and Lao students set hope on a flourishing and sustainable cooperation relationship between UEF and Laos in the field of education.
