The meeting opens up new doors for Restaurant and Hospitality Management students to have an internship in Japan

Speaking of the aim of the meeting, Mr. Motoyasu Ueda said: “Marusanso is an association of top heritage hotels in Japan, and as the CEO of Marusanso Group, I want to bring internship opportunities in Japan to Hospitality Management, Restaurant and Culinary Management majors, and students majoring in Tourism and Travel Management with an extensive Japanese proficiency are also whom we are looking for.”

Mr. Ueda further stated that students after being selected would go to Japan via Visa for Internship, and be provided with air tickets, be picked up at the airport and be driven to the workplace by Marusanso Group’s company vehicles. He also emphasized that all internships are fully paid. Moreover, besides working time, interns are free to study, practice foreign languages, and sightsee around Japan.

Marusanso Group’s representatives appreciate UEFers’ English proficiency

It is mentioned that the minimum requirement to apply for the Marusanso Group internship program is that the student must have reached the highest level in JLPT Test (N1).

As a response to the appealing benefits introduced by Mr. Ueda, Dr. Ly Thien Trang expressed her doubt: “Due to their English-only training, Tourism and Hospitality Management UEFers do not excel in Japanese. Will it be an obstacle for UEF students?”

According to Mr. Ueda, the Marusanso Group’s hotel chain welcomes not only Japanese residents but also foreign visitors, therefore, having good English communication skills is an important criterion when selecting interns.

High-quality international internship programs are regularly provided to students by UEF

With the desire to bring about the best environment for studying, over the years, the University has been maintaining regular relationships with major local and foreign businesses to learn about corporate culture and work conditions so as to give students the best internship experience possible. Thanks to the efforts from UEF, along with their own abilities, UEFers are always the first choice of businesses when making hiring decisions.
