Representatives of UEF pay a state visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic

After the successful negotiation with the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao People's Democratic Republic, in order to strengthen the cooperative spirit between the two sides, from March 26 to April 1, the UEF mission led by Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang - President of the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance - paid a state visit to the Ministry of Education and Sports, as well as the Departments of Education and Sports from every province of Laos.

Dr. Sisouk Vongvichith, Lao Deputy Minister of Education and Sports, along with teachers representing the units, warmly welcomed the UEF mission to visit and work.

During the reception, the Deputy Minister of Laos commended UEF’s contribution to the two nations’ cooperative endeavors these past months and hoped for more cooperation programs in the upcoming time to contribute more to enhancing educational collaboration between both countries.

On behalf of the UEF, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang expressed gratitude toward the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports and briefly highlighted the growth of the UEF over the last 15 years, as well as the accomplishments achieved in reaching international university level. The UEF has been continuing to make substantial enhancements to the cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. Through this working trip, the UEF wishes to improve the university’s reputation in Laos and attract more Lao students to come study at the UEF in the future.

In such an open, cooperative, and sincere atmosphere, the UEF mission and units from the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports have exchanged some practical, effective insights as well as suggested new directions for cooperation in 2023 and in the next phases.

From March 26 to March 31, the UEF mission visited and worked with the Department of Education and Sports at Vientiane, Bolikhamsai, Khammouane, Savannakhet, Champasak, and a couple of schools in those provincial areas.

Students recruitment marketing was implemented at a couple of Laotian schools by the UEF

Throughout the working sessions, leaders from the Lao Departments of Education and Sports met with the UEF mission for practical and productive exchanges. The faculty members introduced the UEF’s scholarship policies and talked about the UEF’s achievements toward becoming an international standard institution.

Via this state visit, the cooperative relationship between the UEF and the Lao Government in the student exchange programs offered by the UEF was consolidated, facilitating the experience of an international learning environment for Lao students. Therefore contributing to the friendship and alliance of the two countries, Vietnam and Laos, in the field of education.
