The last flights of December: The end of a successful year of international internship

12/18/2023

DECEMBER 13, 17, 18 - Students participating in the international internship program in Japan began their new journey, which is also the last batch of UEFers “going abroad” in 2023.

FEBRUARY 2023 - UEF implemented the international internship in Japan, which is considered as the pioneering country. Currently, the number of interns is nearly 100, "covering" many provinces of the land of cherry blossoms. In the 3 recent send-offs, 9 Japanese Language students were encouraged by the school and their families before starting the important internship period.

The constant companionship of the internship was Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong - Director, Center of Corporate Partnerships. There were also representatives from the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures including Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Dean, Mr. Cao Do Quyen - Program Assistant in Japanese Language along with other faculty members.

9 students in the last batch of the internship in Japan in 2023

9 students in the final internship batch were Pham Ngoc Phuong Huynh, Nguyen Ngoc Uyen Vy, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Linh, Le Thi Qui (HRT New Otami Joint Stock Company), Mai Thu Hien, Nguyen Thao Hien, Vu Minh Quan, Truong Quang Ngoc, and Phan Quang Thu (Itoen Hotels Joint Stock Company).

In implementing the international internship program, the university has considered many factors, with the guarantee of student rights and living requirements being prioritized. Before the trips, Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong along with other faculties always encourages students and their families, ensuring that they are mentally strong enough when interning abroad.

Expressing her belief about the internship, Ms. Phan Thi Trang, sister of Phan Quang Thu, shared: "The UEF international internship program is efficient because of its opportunities for students to step out into the world and gain maturity. Her family is also at ease when the interns receive care and support from the university. The one-year period is not too long to lack assurance to allow learning and experience. Majoring in the Japanese Language, students taking internships in Japan will foster their future careers by practicing and improving communication skills. Opportunities like this don't come around often, so I hope my brother can take advantage of it to experience life, practice skills, and try to get a better future”.

Students and their families received encouragement and spiritual support from the university

In a sense of excitement and nervousness before going on an internship, Nguyen Ngoc Uyen Vy said: "I really like the international internship that UEF provides for students, which is a good opportunity that not all students have. The faculties have supported me with lessons, soft skills, and how to handle situations in Japan so that I can complete the internship well. I hope the internship unit will offer me a full-time position so that I can return to the land of cherry blossoms for work."

Meanwhile, Nguyen Ngoc Thuy Linh highlighted the cultural and linguistic insights that will help gain student’s confidence. Not only students majoring in Japanese Language, but UEFers in general also have the chance to exchange, experience, and study cultures in different countries.

Wish you all a successful internship and unforgettable experiences

From the overseas internships and work, students have made significant progress in many aspects: knowledge, language, skills, etc. Due to the promising achievements, the UEF continues to strengthen partnerships to diversify intern countries in the coming time, especially the US and China markets.

Ending a year of sending UEFers to Japan for internships with determination and hopes, we wish you all the best in completing the program, enriching your practical experience, and growing your future career.
