UEFers absorb knowledge about the global era 4.0 from a French speaker

DECEMBER 12 - After the working session between UEF and representatives from Paris-East Créteil University, France (UPEC), the workshop “Gearing up to Globalization 4.0” was organized with insightful sharings of speakers from UPEC.

The workshop had the participation of Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Vice President & Director; Dr. Nguyen Hong Nhung and Ms. Tran Phuong Quynh - Deputy Directors, from UEF International Institute, and numerous students.

Sharing the theme of heading towards globalization 4.0, Mr. Eric Hertzler - Vice Dean of International Relations at the IAE Paris-Est, School of Management at UPEC brought a dynamic viewpoint for students. Besides, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Lien - Lecturer at UEF International Institute also provided valuable knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI) in the modern era.

Mr. Erci Hertzler brought useful information on globalization

The definition of “Globalization” was examined thoroughly by Mr. Eric Hertzler before describing the transition from the previous industrial revolutions to the era 4.0. Meanwhile, the rapid development of technology and the volatility of the world have posed many challenges for the young.

The term “VUCA” was also mentioned by the speaker. VUCA is an acronym for four qualities in the contemporary world: Volatility - Uncertainty - Complexity - Ambiguity. This term is used to delineate the world with a high level of uncertainty and challenges due to many abrupt changes in the short run.

Some points of view on artificial intelligence were shared by Ms. Hong Lien

Hand in hand with the transformation was the significant development of AI in the current time, this topic was also discussed in different aspects by Ms. Hong Lien. At the same time, the roles of AI, apps, and useful tools to assist humans were illustrated as real-life examples.

The workshop helped students access multidimensional knowledge and share personal opinions

With the scope of internationalized education, the globally oriented perspectives shared by speakers aid students in accessing dynamic knowledge. In addition, the workshop enhanced the connections of the international academic programs between UEF and the partner university.
