UEFers depart for Japan, embark on internship journey in an international working nvironment

AUGUST 4, UEF bid farewell to two more students from the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, majoring in Japanese Language, as they departed for Japan to take part in a 12-month internship program. The two outstanding representatives in this cohort are Võ Thị Ánh Nguyệt and Trịnh Thúy Ngọc, who will both work at Hazu Hotel, a business operating in the hospitality and accommodation sector, offering a hands-on working environment rich in Japanese cultural identity.

 


Japanese Language students embark on their international internship journey
 
This internship is the result of close cooperation between UEF and partner enterprises in Japan under the framework of the university’s annual international internship program for students. Beyond improving their Japanese proficiency and professional skills in a real-world setting, UEFers also have the chance to strengthen their intercultural communication abilities and adapt to a disciplined, professional work style — qualities highly valued by global employers in today’s integration era.
 
Accompanying the students at the airport, Mr. Vuong Minh Chau, Lecturer of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, shared her heartfelt congratulations, encouragement, and advice: “This is a significant milestone in your journey of growth. The university and the faculty will always be by your side, supporting you to confidently explore and conquer the international environment.” She also offered practical tips and reminders to help them quickly adapt to life and work in Japan.

The 12-month internship will give UEFers the opportunity to experience the professional operational processes of Japan’s hospitality industry. The two students will be directly involved in various stages of service and management in an environment that emphasizes discipline and service quality, enabling them to develop practical skills in problem-solving, communication, and teamwork.
 
In addition, living and working in Japan will broaden Anh Nguyet and Thuy Ngoc’s understanding of Japanese culture. Adjusting to the local lifestyle and work ethic will not only instill a sense of discipline but also help them hone their flexibility, time management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in a multicultural context.
 
At the airport, family members and friends gathered to show support and encouragement for the two interns ahead of their long journey. Pride, emotion, and high expectations became a special source of energy, empowering them to begin this new chapter with confidence.
