Speak to Succeed 2022: Final round reveals winners

JUNE 30 – Following the “Talent Showcase” round, 8 finalists showed their excellent performances in the Self-Affirmation – Final round of “Speak to Succeed 2022.”

This bilingual presentation contest, organized by UEF International Institute in conjunction with two official sponsors, TTS Education and Sun&Moon Academy, offered students an extraordinary chance to showcase both their presentation abilities and language proficiency.

The event featured the presence of Mr. Do Quoc Anh – Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, Dr. Ho Vien Phuong – Chief, University Central Office, Dr. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Director, UEF International Institute, CEO Victor An, Ms. Branda – General Manager, TTS Education, CEO Hoang Minh Tuan Huy, MCs, and lecturers from Sun&Moon Academy.

Judges of the Final round

The panel of judges for the Final round involved Mr. Hoang Minh Tuan Huy, Mr. Tran Thanh Tung – Radio Host, Voice of Ho Chi Minh City People, Mr. Matt Feurey – presentation and debate trainer, TTS Education, Mr. Cong Nhat – Reporter, Tuoi Tre News, and Ms. Doan Thi Thu Ha – Winner of En Vang 2021, HTV.

Mr. Do Quoc Anh delivered his opening remarks

Besides giving an overview of UEF’s undergraduate programs, UEF Vice Chairman Do Quoc Anh also emphasized the importance of public speaking as a must-have skill in different professions and life contexts. Hence, “Speak to Succeed 2022” was the first step for students to gain real-world experience.

The 8 finalists competing in the Final round include WeUnique, The Warriors, The Mindset, Daisy, BeU, The Trio, Shining, and Vo Hy Hai Anh. The contestants had 5 minutes to present their topics in either English or Vietnamese and 4 minutes to debate.

Contestants showed confidence in presenting their selected topics

The finalists demonstrated problems and solutions, then gave convincing answers following their chosen topics, namely Cohabitation, GenZ - a carefree generation, Open your mindset, Mental health, School pressure, GenZ and Tiktok, and Is Work-life balance a real balance?.

After each performance, the judges gave feedback on presentation, voice quality, and contents to help them improve their presentation skills.

Based on the evaluation criteria, the top 3 finalists were:
Winner: WeUnique
1st Runner-up: The Mindset
2nd Runner-up: The Warriors

Top performances from TTS-Cup

UEFers also had a chance to watch impressive presentations from TTS Cup, a contest that helped students in HCMC improve their English, and fostering soft skills, presentation skills, and critical thinking skills.

Grand prizes in “Speak to Succeed 2022”

Speak to Succeed 2022, a springboard for knowledgable talents with language competence has come to an end. Hopefully, all contestants have gained enough experience and practical skills to become future professional speakers.
