[The PD module] UEF faculty members return from a fruitful working trip in Japan.

JULY 18-22, UEF faculty members have visited and worked at Kanazawa Institute of Technology (K.I.T), Japan. During the visit, representatives of the two universities discussed the teaching cooperation outcome, the application of Project Design (PD) modules, faculty development, and student exchange activities.

On behalf of the UEF delegation group, there were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri – UEF Vice President, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hung – Director of Project Design Training Center, and Ms. Ha Le Thu Hoai – Deputy Director of Project Design Training Center.

On the first day in Japan, the delegation of UEF was introduced to such units as the Center for International Cooperation, the Career Counseling Center, and laboratories.

JULY 19 - There was a meeting between representatives of both parties, including the presence of K.I.T.'s leader: Dr. Satoshi Osawa – Principal, and Mr. Kazunori Kugo – Dean, International Cooperation Department.

At the official meeting, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri disseminated the development achievements of UEF. Along with the prestige and high training quality standard in Vietnam, UEF has achieved the 4-Star QS Stars certification (2021 - 2022). Dr. Nhan Cam Tri also emphasized the positive results of teaching the PD modules. After participating in modules PD1 and PD2 (Innovation), UEFers have applied their ability in critical thinking, problem-solving and soft skills to learning, thereby receiving high evaluation from enterprises.

According to Dr. Satoshi Osawa, the Project-based Design (PD Education) teaching concept forms the core of all majors at K.I.T. Following the evolution of technology and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), all majors at K.I.T combine content related to AI, IoT, and Sustainable Development topics for the Environment - Society - People. K.I.T highly appreciates that PD modules have been successfully taught and brought many positive effects at UEF. Furthermore, K.I.T representatives expect to have cooperative teaching, learning, and research activities between the two universities.

JULY 20 - The workshop “Sharing of Project Design Education” was hosted for K.I.T PD Center and UEF PD Center to exchange teaching concepts with PD modules. K.I.T PD lecturers have grasped teaching methods, advantages, and disadvantages of teaching and learning PD modules of UEF. Besides, the UEF delegation attended the practical PD class with K.I.T lecturers and students the next day.

After spending time at K.I.T, UEF staff and faculty members obtained many valuable experiences and knowledge regarding the PD modules, which has contributed to improve teaching methods. Cooperation activities in teaching, learning, and research between K.I.T and UEF are also promising to be implemented in the coming time.
