Expanding Global Vision
In the era of globalization, access to international knowledge is a key factor for UEFers to keep pace with global development. Thematic classes at MCUT, led by lecturers from renowned universities such as Ming Chuan University, Asia Eastern University, and National Chiao Tung University, offered UEF students deep insights into ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and SDGs.
Renowned lecturers in Taiwan offered UEFers fresh perspectives on sustainable development.

A highlight of the program was not only its academic content but also the dynamic approach to learning. Students were encouraged to engage in discussions, critical thinking, and propose project ideas addressing real-world issues like sustainable fashion, AI-powered air quality monitoring, and connecting cultural heritage through technology. These experiences helped students sharpen critical thinking, independent research, and teamwork skills in a multicultural environment—all essential qualities of global citizens.

Immersive cultural experience: a bridge to global integration
Culture permeates every breath of life. During the journey, UEFers immersed themselves in the local Taiwanese culture through unforgettable experiences—from visiting the ancient village of Jiufen, releasing sky lanterns in Shifen, enjoying traditional Taiwanese cuisine, to hand-dyeing indigo fabrics in Sanxia’s traditional craft village.

What made these experiences special was their connection to sustainability messages—preserving traditional crafts, reviving local culture, and promoting green tourism. These activities illustrated that sustainable development is not a distant concept but a present reality reflected in cultural practices, economic decisions, and educational orientations.
Through this, students gained a deeper understanding of the linkage between culture and development, identity and integration. UEFers absorbed lessons not often found in textbooks or lecture halls.
Affirming competence, mindset, and capability
As part of the program, students presented final project reports to an international academic panel. From ideas nurtured in class and real-world experiences, the student groups confidently presented relevant and innovative topics such as “EduConnect – A Comprehensive Education Platform”, “Food Finder – A Smart Food Discovery Solution”, and “AI-driven AirGuard – An Air Quality Monitoring Assistant.”

The closing ceremony was not only a moment to celebrate their achievements but also an opportunity to receive official certificates from MCUT recognizing their successful completion of the international project. More importantly, it reinforced UEF’s role in the international education network and its capacity to implement cross-border learning programs. This contributes to building a strong foundation for UEF’s mission of cultivating high-quality, globally integrated human resources for sustainable development.

The journey concluded with emotional footage, heartfelt smiles, and warm hugs between UEFers and their international friends. But more significantly, it left behind seeds of knowledge, skills, and awareness—ready to flourish in their future academic and personal journeys.
Through this program, UEF once again affirmed that the internationalization of education is not merely a strategy, but a meaningful journey that allows students to live, learn, and grow at the heart of the global stage. This is the sustainable value that the university pursues—for a generation of global citizens equipped not only with intellect but also with the heart to contribute to their communities and country.
