Students from Faculty of Business Administration interview and gear up for internship in Japan

04/16/2024

In recent years, UEF has encouraged the program of sending students to intern at enterprises across the world with the aim of creating opportunities for them to further develop their knowledge, abilities, and experience. With an ever-expanding network of business connections both locally and globally, the University has "lighted a fire" and brought the dream of integrating with the world closer to many generations of students.

Following the success of the internship program in Japan for Japanese Language students, in 2024, UEF will continue to expand this activity to those of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA). Accordingly, on April 16, 10 potential candidates of the FBA successfully completed the student interviews for the internship program at Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort (Japan). The activity was organized by the Faculty of Business Administration in coordination with the Center of Corporate Partnerships to create connections, enabling both sides to gain insights and make the optimal choice.

10 students of the FBA successfully completed the interview with partners from Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort

From UEF, there were the presence of Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong - Director of the Center of Corporate Partnerships; and Mr. Tran Hoang Nam - Deputy Dean, Faculty of Business Administration, to provide encouragement and useful advice to students.

The interview was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh - Director of IFK Vietnam, and partners from Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort. These representatives directly worked and engaged with students to find the most outstanding candidates.

Representatives of the University and partners closely observed UEFers’ interview process

With the format of one-on-one interviews, UEFers would have more time and opportunity to express themselves in front of partners. Basic inquiries such as self-introduction, interests, or extracurricular activities both within and outside the university to more complex questions challenging their knowledge about the country, culture, and people of Japan are completed confidently and fluently. In particular, with the question about the goals of this trip, many students expressed their determination, personal development plans, and steady career orientation.

"Setting foot in Japan has been my dream for a long time. I chose to participate in this program because it helped that dream come true. If I am chosen by the partners and the university, I will also feel happy yet very nervous because I haven’t had many chances to communicate directly with locals so far. But overall, I will try my best to seize the internship and work opportunities this time," shared Le Nguyen Van Anh, a student of the Faculty of Business Administration, during the interview.

FBA students confidently demonstrated their determination for the international internship

From the partner, representatives of Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort have consistently fostered a comfortable atmosphere, creating the most favorable conditions for students to showcase their strengths. Following each answer, FBA students received detailed feedback to enhance their skills and broaden their perspectives. In addition to work-related discussions, Japanese partners showed a keen interest in the habits, lifestyles, and aspirations of young people, aiming to provide the best preparation and welcome.

Regarding the interview feedback, the partner praised the energetic performances of UEFers. Particularly, the students have conveyed their uniqueness and personalities, as well as their initiative in seizing opportunities to pursue their dreams. In addition, some candidates also demonstrated their fluency in language, along with a rich knowledge of the Land of Cherry Blossoms.

Partners heaped praise on the performance of UEF students

To help UEFers gain more confidence on their journey to conquer their dreams in the Land of the Rising Sun, at the end of the interview, Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than also provided detailed information about the Japanese cultural training class that will be implemented in the near future.

Specifically, the admitted students will participate in learning sessions to enhance their knowledge and Japanese language skills with Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than and lecturers from the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures. With their wealth of experience and expertise, UEF lecturers will continuously support students to successfully complete their internship and return with valuable memories.

UEF representatives gave advice and cheered students before their internship in Japan

A representative of IFK Company, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh, specifically addressed the operation of the internship program in Japan. By providing comprehensive details about the internship units, assignments, accommodation, and living arrangements, he helped UEFers feel more assured about experiencing the new environment. Notably, clear and professional guidance regarding procedures and paperwork were also provided.

Information about the internship program was delivered in detail and thoroughly by Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh

During this internship, students will work at Joetsu Kokusai Ski Resort, Niigata Prefecture. This is known as one of the largest ski resorts in Japan with a variety of services and amenities. The program lasts for 4 months with permission, close monitoring of their families,  and the companionship and active support from UEF as well as its partners. By the end of the internship, the students will have developed their professional skills, expertise, and ability to use Japanese, and gained a deeper understanding of cultural beauty.

This is a valuable opportunity for UEFers to enhance themselves and fulfill their dream of "going abroad". Hopefully, the students will achieve good results and take advantage of international internship opportunities to acquire and practice more knowledge, skills, and foreign languages.
