MAY 19 - 23, UEF sent a delegation including Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc – Vice President, and Ms. Huynh Tu Anh – Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Marketing, to attend the "International Partners’ Week" at HSE University in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The event brought together over 100 professors, lecturers, and international cooperation officers from more than 30 countries, offering a valuable opportunity to connect, share, and develop sustainable models of cooperation in the field of higher education.

Beyond its significance as a diplomatic activity, the event featured a series of in-depth panel sessions with contributions from experts across disciplines and continents. UEF’s representative also contributed professional insights and shared practical experiences from Vietnam.

Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc served as co-moderator in the panel session titled “Trends in Summer Schools and Short-time Programmes.” During this session, speakers from Brazil, India, Russia, Japan, and Vietnam shared perspectives and experiences in organizing short-term cultural exchange programs and summer school activities. The discussion highlighted the growing interest among universities in offering such programs in various formats—on-site, online, or hybrid. While each model has its advantages, many institutions emphasized that in-person formats are often prioritized for cultural immersion programs, as they offer students a fuller, more authentic experience.

Ms. Huynh Tu Anh contributed to the panel session titled “From Advertisement to Arrival: Challenges and Best Practices in International Students’ Recruitment.” Drawing from UEF’s own experiences, she highlighted common barriers faced by international students—from accessing reliable information and overcoming language hurdles to adapting to new cultural environments. To address these challenges, UEF has implemented specific solutions such as enhancing multilingual information platforms, establishing a buddy system to support international students, and building partnerships with businesses to expand career opportunities for graduates.
During the visit, UEF representatives also made a notable impression at the Educational Fair. The university’s booth drew considerable interest from HSE students, particularly those studying Asian Studies and learning Vietnamese. Many expressed a strong desire to learn more about the academic environment and exchange opportunities at UEF. This enthusiastic response signals a positive step forward in UEF’s internationalization strategy.

In addition to the series of academic activities, the delegates also had the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage of Russia through visits to the Hermitage Museum, Catherine Palace, and a performance of Swan Lake ballet. These cultural experiences further enriched their understanding of Russia’s educational and cultural landscape.
