The trip provided many hands-on experiences, giving international students the opportunity to access a multinational technology business model, thereby expanding their knowledge and perspectives on the Vietnamese technology market in the context of global integration.

Accompanying the Pitt student delegation were Dr. Nguyen Kim Thoa - Deputy Director of the International Institute, along with representatives from the Pittsburgh delegation including Ms. Stephanie Laura Spirk - Global Experience Program Manager, and Prof. Haimanti Banerjee.

 

Under the guidance and coordination of members from FPT Software – FPT Corporation, the student delegation had a comprehensive tour of the company's workspace. The modern architectural design and the open, green, and friendly working environment were highlights that impressed the Pittsburgh students. They had the opportunity to learn about the operational structure of various departments, human resource organization methods, and the distinctive work culture within Vietnam's technology environment.
  This activity provided the students with a practical insight into how a Vietnamese technology company operates. They were able to compare and contrast it with business models in the United States, contributing to the expansion of multi-dimensional thinking and cross-cultural business analysis capabilities in the technology sector.

Also during the visit, Mr. La Hoai Vu – Leader Business Analyst at FPT Software – FPT Corporation, gave an overview of the company, from its formation history and development milestones to its human resource training process and typical FPT products. Notably, Pittsburgh students actively engaged in discussions, asking many questions surrounding topics such as the application of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, human resource strategies, and factors creating an ideal working environment at a technology company.

The exchange atmosphere was lively with open sharing from both sides. FPT Software – FPT Corporation enthusiastically answered students' questions and also gave them meaningful souvenir gifts, demonstrating their hospitality and spirit of international connection.

The site visit and practical study session at FPT Software – FPT Corporation was a special highlight in the Plus 3 - 2025 journey. For Pittsburgh students, this was an opportunity to access practical knowledge outside the classroom, gaining a better understanding of Vietnam's business capabilities in the technology sector – a country undergoing strong digital transformation.

From the "journey diaries" recorded at FPT Software – FPT Corporation, the U.S. students brought back much new knowledge and many lessons. It is believed that all the information gained during this trip will become useful resources for the international students' studies. Continuing the program, the U.S. student delegation will proceed to visit other businesses and gain more new experiences during their two weeks of study in Vietnam.
