UEF holds farewell filled with unforgettable memories for Japanese interns

MARCH 14 - As a part of the student exchange program between UEF and Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University (APU) – Japan, students majoring in Japanese Interpretation and Translation hold a farewell event for APU students, who have just finished their 4-week internship at UEF.
The event had the presence of Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than – Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, Mr. Cao Do Quyen – Assistant, Japanese Language, along with other faculty members.

Ninomiya Shintaro, Amenomori Takafumi, and Saito Rin are three APU students taking part in an internship at UEF.
During their 4-week internship at UEF, APU students worked as Japanese language teaching assistants, organized events to introduce Japanese culture to Vietnamese students, attended classroom sessions for 120 hours/4 weeks (20 hours/week), engaged in lesson preparation, and hosted extracurricular activities. Besides that, they also took part in additional activities with UEF students, such as engaging in field trips at enterprises and historical sites in Ho Chi Minh City.

UEFers gave meaningful gifts to APU students
 

At the farewell ceremony, students of both universities delivered numerous musical performances, presented videos of Japan which were a fruitful collaboration with UEFers. Handmade gifts were also sent to APU students by Japanese language students.

After a 4-week internship at UEF, Saito Rin expressed her feelings
 

“I am extremely satisfied with my experiences at UEF with Japanese language students. Thanks to the generous hospitality of the professors and students at UEF, I felt inspired to become a Japanese language teacher in Vietnam and return to UEF as soon as possible.’’, Saito Rin expressed.

Through the internship, students of both universities enriched their understanding of language, culture, history, as well as bolstered the cultural bond between Vietnam and Japan. Hopefully, the experiences at UEF will be an everlasting memory for APU students.
