UEF Signs MoU with Visang Viet Nam Education

On March 31st, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance has officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Visang Viet Nam Education. This partnership is expected to path the way for UEFers to study Korean with modern educational technology.
The ceremony is pleased to have the presence of Mr. Lee Yeong Geun - Director, Mr. Le Khac Anh - Director of eLearning, Mr. Nguyen Duc Nguyen - Project Manager of KLASS (Korean Language Smart Solution) and Ms. Nguyen Bich Ngoc - Head of External Relations and company specialists. Besides, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang - President of UEF, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Cao Cuong - Vice President are the representatives of UEF together with lecturers and students.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang places heavy emphasis on the meaning of connecting the university with enterprises. It is anticipated to provide students more academic opportunities; especially for the language-major ones. With the strengths from modern technology, UEF hopes to get the support from Visang Viet Nam Education in its training activities in the future.
“Our Korean Language Smart Solution project is honored to be carried out at UEF. Visang is a well-known company in the field of education technology. With our accumulated experiences and techniques, we hope to be able to apply them widely in Vietnam. Human resource training is a shared responsibility between the university and businesses, so we will try our utmost ”. He also added that Korean is currently receiving a lot of attention from society after the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam has made this language one of the first foreign language subjects taught in high school. "Visang also hopes to work with UEF to find more interesting Korean learning methods for students and furthermore contribute to promoting the Vietnam-Korea cooperation relationship." said Mr. Lee Yeong Geun - Visang Viet Nam Education’s Director.

After the signing ceremony, Mr. Le Khac Anh - Director of eLearning Visang has provided a lot of useful knowledge to UEF students through the workshop “Career orientation for students majoring in foreign languages”.
During the workshop, the speaker shares 5 basic issues: challenges in the language major, job opportunities for Korean-major students, the reasons for choosing Master Korean, recruitment requirements of businesses and good CV writing skills.

Some possible careers related to Korean major introduced are teacher, translator/ interpreter, tour guide, air hostess, office worker for Vietnamese and Korean companies.
The criteria for recruiting at company are also mentioned at the ceremony. The speaker analyzes thoroughly how language skill, soft skills and experiences affect significantly when applying for a job. Moreover, how to write a good CV is also discussed.
