UEF welcomes delegation from Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union of Attapeu and Champasak

On the morning of August 8, UEF welcomed the delegation of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union of Attapeu and Champasack provinces.  This was also an opportunity for the University to share the academic performance and daily life of the current Lao exchange students studying at UEF.

The UEF representatives presented to welcome the delegation included Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang - Secretary of the Party Committee and President, Board of Management; Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President, Board of Management; Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen - Dean, Faculty of International Relations; Mr. Bui Quang Dong - Director, Department of Student Services; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Sinh - Secretary of the University Youth Union and Deputy Director, Department of Student Services; Dr. Pham Tien Dong - Deputy Director,  UEF Center of IT and Foreign Languages; and Ms. Huynh Tu Anh - Deputy Director, UEF International Institute. During the welcome and working session, Comrade Phung Tien Khoa from the Committee’s Publicity and Education Commission - External Relations, Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union was also in attendance.
 

UEF welcomed the delegation of the Lao People's Revolutionary Youth Union in Attapeu and Champasack provinces this morning 


On the side of the Champasack Provincial Youth Union delegation, there were: Comrade Khamdeang Divixay - Secretary of the Youth Union, Comrade Khamphay Khunphilavanh - Secretary of the Finance Department of the Youth Union, Comrade Sitthided Phulaieng - Secretary of the Páksong District Youth Union, Comrade Sulivong Sithanongsak - Officer, and Comrade Khaophone Bouathphan - Officer.

The delegation of Attapeu Provincial Youth Union consisted of: Comrade Xaylakhone Inthivong - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union, Comrade Keophunya Khamsuvunnong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union - Deputy Secretary of the Commercial Bank Union, Comrade Aloaudeth Saraphan - Member of the Executive Committee of the Provincial Youth Union - Member of the Executive Committee of Industrial Establishments, Comrade Suphaphone Kongbouakham - Secretary of the Youth Union of Finance, Comrade Sengsouvanh Khampakdy - Officer.
 

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang - UEF President delivered a welcoming speech to the delegation 


In his welcoming speech to the delegation, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang talked about UEF’s educational objectives for globalization, citing Laos as the country with a significant number of students enrolled at the university: “UEF has been accepting Lao exchange students on state scholarships. Up to now, there are 40 students enrolled. The university aims to expand international cooperation with Laos, continue to implement strategies, and hope to offer more scholarships to Lao students, increasing their numbers in Ho Chi Minh City in general and at UEF in particular. Despite initial challenges, Lao students quickly adapted and performed well academically. In the upcoming graduation ceremony, the University is proud to note that 12 Lao students will graduate, including two with excellent grades and one who has accelerated academic progress. With the support of both the State and UEF, we hope these students will continue to study, graduate, and return to contribute to their homeland.”
 

 The representative shared insights and thanked UEF for supporting Lao students at UEF 


The representatives of Attapue and Champasack Provincial Youth Unions expressed their sincere gratitude to UEF for the support provided to Lao students at UEF. At the same time, the representatives hoped that UEF would continue providing opportunities for students from Attapeu and Champasack provinces to study in the future. They also extended an invitation for the university leadership to visit and collaborate with the local Department of Education.
 

Dr. Pham Tien Dong presented recent educational collaborations between UEF and Lao organizations


At the reception, Dr. Pham Tien Dong introduced educational cooperation activities between UEF and Lao organizations during the recent period. These included UEF’s visits and working sessions with the leader of the Ministry of Education and Sports of the Lao People's Democratic Republic; as well as the Departments of Education and Sports of the provinces and cities: Vientiane Capital, Borlikhamxay, Khammouan, and Savannakhet.
 

Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen reviewed the academic progress of Lao students at UEF

 

Education collaboration information and proposals were discussed during the meeting 


To provide the delegation with a better understanding of the Lao students’ academic performance at UEF, Dr. Tran Thanh Huyen also pointed out some information about the student numbers, graduation achievements, employment outcomes, as well as cultural and sports activities during their study and development.
 

The delegation visited and learned about the learning environment at UEF


With 60 years of diplomatic relations, Vietnam and Laos have been cooperating and supporting each other as close neighbors. Through this meeting and exchange, UEF aspires to further enhance the cooperative ties between the two nations, especially in the realm of education, by aiding numerous Lao students in pursuing studies and development in Vietnam.
