UEFers discover unique features in Chinese culinary culture through the Chinese Delicacies contest

"Chinese Delicacies" is a new and unique contest organized by the Faculty of Languages and International Culture, which gives students the opportunity to learn and enrich knowledge about Chinese culture, especially the members of the Chinese language "family". The final round of the contest took place on April 8 with 5 teams' attendance with the best results.

This contest has attended and accompanied by the guests: Mr. Do Quoc Anh - Vice President of the School Council, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri – UEF’s Vice President, Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Dean of Faculty of Languages and International Culture, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh - Vice Dean of Faculty of Languages and International Culture, Dr. Phan Bao Giang - Vice Dean of Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Hien - Nguyen Tat Thanh University’s Dean of Faculty of Tourism and Vietnamese Studies.

In which, the judges of the competition included Dr. Phan Bao Giang, Ms. Pham Thi Thuy Linh and Dr. Nguyen Phuoc Hien.

 

Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President sent cheers to 5 teams

Before the competition, Dr. Nhan Cam Tri shared the meaning of the contest, the knowledge gained from the contest will help students to have more experience and necessary skills for the future. He also congratulated 5 teams on the success of the final competition.
 

The judges of the contest

There were 5 teams participating in the competition, including Tra Xanh, Bai Hoa Giao, MTK, Yellowy, and Hoa Tieu. The first round was to answer 15 questions on the Kahoot application with the topic of Chinese culinary culture. The team having the best score would be awarded the Best Kahoot Team.
 

5 teams answered Kahoot questions and gave presentations

After the Kahoot round, 5 teams moved on to the presentation section with different topics. Yellowy started with the topic "The philosophical thought in Chinese culinary culture", Bai Hoa Giao team presented the topic "Fire in Chinese culinary culture", the theme of the MTK team was "Interesting things in the name of Chinese food", Hoa Tieu team competed with the topic "Spices is the soul of Chinese food", and finally the theme of the Green Tea team was "The art of tea ceremony China - The quintessence of Asian culture".
 

6 prizes were awarded including the Impression Award, the Creativity Award, the Best PowerPoint Design Award, the Most Impressive Presentation Award, and the Best Kahoot Award

The presentation contest also ended the Chinese Delicacies contest, and the contest awarded 6 prizes. Specifically, the Impression Award went to MTK team, the Creativity Award was Yellowy, Tra Xanh team won the Best Style award, the Best PowerPoint Design Award and the Most Impressive Presentation Award went to the Bai Hoa Giao team, the Best Kahoot Award went to Hoa Tieu team.
 

Adding a special part to the program were dance and singing performances on Chinese music background

5 teams learned a lot about Chinese culinary culture through the Chinese Delicacies competition. This is also the "luggage" for Chinese language students in particular and UEF students as a whole to study, cultivate, and practice skills necessary for future careers.
 

The contest brought students a lot of knowledge about Chinese culinary culture

In addition to the Chinese Delicacies competition, in recent times, the Faculty of Languages and International Culture has organized many interesting and meaningful activities for students, for example making Japanese New Year greeting cards, making kimchi with Korean artists, learning the art of Japanese gift wrapping, etc. Those are activities to help students discover the countries' cultures associated with their major and acquire more common knowledge and skills.
