Acceptance of research project on the internship and job research support system for UEFers

03/01/2025

In the context of an increasingly competitive labor market, graduates not only face professional knowledge demands but also quickly adapt with the practical working environment. Unfortunately, the gap between training and real-life is still a major challenge, requesting support from various sides to equip students with a solid foundation upon entering the labor market.

FEBRUARY 28, Facing the reality, M.S. Hoang Van Hieu - Lecturer of the Faculty of Information Technology implemented the scientific research theme of “Building the graduation internship implementation and job research support system at UEF” to effectively connect students and the university with enterprises. The topic was successfully defended by the Panel led by Dr. Nguyen Ha Giang - Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology; Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - UEF Vice President and Dr. Van Thi Thien Trang - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology as reviewers together with other committee members.

The panel reviewed the scientific research topic by the lecturers of Faculty of Information Technology

The unemployment rate within the working-age population in Vietnam currently stands at 2,3%, however, the situation of underutilizing labor potential is increasingly on the rise. Specifically, graduates usually face challenges in job research due to lacking practical experiences and effective strategies to approach employers. Amid the scene, the notorious development of the Internet and digital recruitment platforms provided various connection opportunities between businesses and employees. However, these platforms still contain limitations, as they don’t personalize the experience for students and do not create a solid connection with the educational environment. Based on these practical needs, the research group created a job research support system aimed at connecting students, the University and businesses, helping UEFers access jobs before graduation.

M.S. Hoang Van Hieu presented the research theme to the Panel

The system is designed with many use-support features, including student’s application process, business’s recruiting confirmation process, lecturer’s recruitment management process and lecturer’s account management process. With an intuitive and user-friendly visual, the system helps students easily navigate, allows businesses to conveniently post job openings, and lecturers are able to effectively update student’s internship process.

After the practical trial, the system has proved its practicality with outstanding advantages such as user-friendly visuals, easy to use, provide a comprehensive experience, suitable content for students and ensure stable performance. The Panel highly valued the effort from the research team, and at the same time acknowledged that the project has high practical applicability. Some suggestions were also made to further improve the system before its widespread application at UEF.

The panel highly appreciated the applicability of the project

The successful research and implementation of this system not only helps students  access jobs more easily but also contributes to enhancing training quality and strengthens the cooperative relationship between the University and enterprises. This will be an important step that helps UEFers to transition more smoothly into the job market.
