Bachelor program in UK was officially launched at UEF

On the morning of September 27, The Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) has solemnly held the inauguration ceremony of the International Bachelor program at the University of Gloucestershire (Great Britain) in the Conference Room.

The ceremony was presented by the Deputy Consul General of United Kingdom Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Affairs, the Board of Management, the Board of Director, leaders of enterprises, training units, universities in Ho Chi Minh City with many parents and new students who are currently studying the Gloucestershire program.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Warren Eng - UEF Managing Director affirmed that with the quality of international training and the mission of creating high quality human resources for the society, students will have the opportunity to experience the ‘UK standard’ learning environment right in Vietnam. In this way, students will be recognized internationally by MoET without the travelling abroad.

Mr. Neill James - Deputy Consul General of UK in HCM acknowledged and highly appreciated the cooperation of the two universities. There are currently about 8,000 Vietnamese students studying in the UK and not everyone is capable to name themselves on this list. As a result, a partnership program between UEF and the University of Gloucestershire will help students realize the dream of becoming a British Bachelor in Vietnam.

Speaking to new students, Mr. Tran Phuoc Anh - Deputy Director of Department of Foreign Affairs said: "This is a good sign for the internationalization of education in our country. Education is the key, the gateway to the sustainable development of a country and the education system in the UK is always the world's leading education system, which is worth learning and cooperating. Students need to visualize, search for their passion, create plan and action. "

Also in the ceremony, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Director of the UEF Institute of International Education has introduced representatives and parents about the internationalization model in UEF. The international program at the UEF is much different from other existing programs, which consisted only modern facilities and foreign teachers. The program includes a wide range of programs including international exchange, international in-country course, transfer abroad, international school experience, international academic exchanges, etc. UEF will help students with "going abroad" through countries with partner schools such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, etc. Also, foreign students also choose UEF to study from one or two week to one semester. In this series of exchange academic activities, the International Student Club (IEF) always supports and cooperates as the UEF's international ambassador, always welcoming students from other countries from all over the world.

According to Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc, the entire training program was built accordingly to the standard of British education by the University of Gloucestershire. The content of the program combines both theory and practice, focusing on situational analysis, real problem solving, participate in internships at enterprises.

Experienced lecturers, including professors, PhDs from Gloucestershire and UEF, are directly involved in teaching, integrating advanced methods, helping to develop creative and critical thinking skills. English is the primal language in a class with no more than 25 students.

Minimum English language proficiency of IELTS 6.0. Life skills will be a seminar series that will be developed throughout the learning process, helping students adapt and have correct responds to future career challenges. These skills will help students express themselves in the international work environment.

Throughout the course, students will have the opportunity to exchange cultural and academic experiences with foreign students and receive 100% international scholarships in the United Kingdom, USA, France.
