MAY 16 - With the aim of creating opportunities for UEFers to experience China's established education and culture, as well as exchange and learn with international students, the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures launched the online study abroad program "Experience Chinese culture" with the participation of representatives of Guangxi Minzu University - China.

Attending the virtual session, there were Ms. Tran Khiet - Deputy Head, the United Front Work Department, Commissioner, Party Committee of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region; Ms. Thoi Hieu Lam - Vice President, Guangxi Minzu University; Mr. Ton Lo Nghi - Head, United Front Work Department, Commissioner, the Party Committee of Guangxi University for Nationalities; Mr. Phu Quang Hoa - Head, Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at Guangxi University for Nationalities; Ms. Chau Diem Tien - Director, Guangxi University for Nationalities Institute of International Education. The event also honorably featured Mr. Luoming - Director, the Confucius Institute of the National University of Laos, lecturers and students of Van Hien University in Ho Chi Minh City.
On behalf of UEF, there was Mr. Do Quoc Anh – Vice Chairman, Board of Directors; Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc –- Vice President, Board of Management, and Director, UEF International Institute;, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lan - Deputy Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, Ms. Huynh Tu Anh - Deputy Director, UEF International Institute along with UEF students.

At the event, representing UEF, Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc stated: “We are honored to cooperate with one of UEF's important partners - Guangxi Minzu University to organize a short-term study abroad program facilitating UEFers’ experience on Chinese culture, exchange and learning with teachers and students of China, Laos, Thailand, as well as Vietnamese students from other schools in Ho Chi Minh City. Hopefully, this program can be implemented smoothly, fostering closer and more effective cooperation between the two universities.”
The program offers students more opportunities to experience China's established culture
Taking place from May 16 to May 25, the session offers UEFers chances to learn and experience cultural facets including Chinese martial arts, Zhuang ethnic songs, ethnographic museums, the art of knotting and paper cutting, the Chinese tea culture, the ink wash painting, the recitation, the Chinese characters, etc.
The lessons are held at the UEF with the materials facilitating students’ experiences provided by Guangxi Minzu University. Those who have completed the course will be granted a certificate from Guangxi University for Nationalities.
The program fosters not only UEFers’ transferable skills but also their foreign language proficiency when offering them opportunities to interact with international companions, to learn, and to discover the cultural beauty of China right at UEF.
