UEFers listened and discussed at the workshop "The transformation of journalism to adapt in the age of social networks"

Starting the training session, UEFers participated in a workshop themed "The transformation of journalism to adapt in the age of social networks" shared by Mr. Do Hung.

The 4.0 revolution has formed a new public class, compatible with the characteristics of the current times - the "digital public". Its Characteristic is a decrease in interest in print or radio newspapers, instead of favoring electronic newspapers - a form of information that can be easily accessed through a smartphone.

This phenomenon forces press and media agencies to alter their production methods and processes; Media products will have to focus on multimedia.

This generation of public requires press and communication products to be brief, concise, and timely. Therefore, the content of press products is gradually "compressed" in terms of capacity. At this time, graphic information, and multimedia journalistic products such as mega-stories, livestream clips on social networks, etc. will meet the demand of the recipients.

Students observed newspaper office works

Assessing the current trends, each newsroom needs to constantly adapt the new, serving the modern public today. However, the priority principles of the press must not be forgotten: honesty, objectivity, and providing useful information.

The most sought-after activity among UEFers is expertise as a TV editor

In addition, UEFers visited departments of Thanh Nien Newspaper to gain more insights into the procedures of a newsroom. UEFers also had the chance to experience working as a TV editor at the newsroom’s studio.

The visit brought numerous meaningful lessons and experiences to UEFers

UEF makes every effort to accompany students with visiting and studying activities at businesses, units, and agencies with the hope that students will receive multiple opportunities to experience real work as well as create their own networks and relationships for future careers. These activities not only bring excitement to students, but also equip them with hands-on knowledge about the industry, which enables them to make suitable orientations earlier in life.
