UEF promotes more international internships and employment opportunities for students

Japan often welcomes a large number of UEF students for corporate internships. Therefore, UEF always strives to expand its partnership in this country to promote opportunities for Japanese Language students and other academic programs to study and practice in the land of cherry blossoms.

OCTOBER 26 - the Center of Corporate Partnerships organized the workshop: Japanese internship opportunities. The workshop honorably featured the presence of  Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh - Director of IFK Education and Translation Company, a unit that collaborated with UEF to send nearly 100 students to Japan for internships.

Attending this workshop were: Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong - Director, Center of Corporate Partnerships; Mr. Vo Van Thanh Than - Dean, Faculty of Languages and International Cultures; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lan - Deputy Director, UEF Center of IT and Foreign Languages; Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoai and Ms. Nguyen Viet Thuy - Deputy Deans, Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management; Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tuan - Deputy Dean, Faculty of English; Ms. Hoang Thi Ngoc Hien - Assistant Dean, Faculty of English; Mr. Cao Do Quyen - Program Assistant, Japanese Language.

The workshop attracted the attention and enrollment of students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Faculty of English. In particular, the workshop was also accompanied by two “eyewitnesses” Ha Thu and Thien Kim, who successfully completed the Japanese internship program and returned to the country the earliest.

Commencing the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh shared an overview of Japanese culture, the people, and the IFK company. IFK is a pioneering organization in facilitating conditions for UEF students to study and work in an international environment. He also disseminated the information of the Japanese internship program as the cooperation between IFK and UEF. Students who come here for internships mainly from the Restaurant - Hospitality and Language major, working in various areas such as restaurants, hotels, and ryokan (traditional Japanese inns), etc.

Many UEFers were into the internship, food and housing incentives, as well as special benefits alongside. Students can both participate in the internship and earn a stipend without having to worry about the accommodation and transportation, which is one of the advantages of Japanese internship.

At the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Lan also shared about Japanese crash courses for students as language competency is one of the requirements to complete the internship application. As a result, those from the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Faculty of English are required to obtain the certificate. By enrolling in the UEF Center of IT and Foreign Languages, UEFers will receive different attractive incentives, allowing them to embark on their internship journey in Japan.

Ha Thu and Thien Kim shared practical experiences from their six months in Japan to help other students gain a better understanding of Japanese lives during the internship. They recounted the challenges they faced from the very first days, how they overcame them, and how they adapted to their new lives with pride. Beginning with integration, working, and gaining valuable lessons in a professional and disciplined international working environment, both of them now matured significantly. Their stories are also a rich source of inspiration for many students interested in the Japan internship program.

The workshop has promoted international internship and employment opportunities for UEFers, especially those in the field of Restaurant - Hospitality and English Language. It is believed that through the sharing of speakers, teachers, and guests, UEFers will see a new perspective in the Japanese internship program and soon make plans to go on this exciting journey in the future.
