UEF visits the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh city on Boun Pi Mai 2023

APRIL 11 - A delegation of UEF visited the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the country’s traditional New Year festival (Boun Pi Mai). This enhances the relations between Vietnam and Laos, as well as sharing spiritual value with Laotian students studying at UEF.
The delegation includes Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang – President, Board of Management, Mr. Pham Doan Nguyen – Vice President, Board of Management and Mr. Nguyen Huynh Sinh – Deputy Director, Department of Student Services. On the part of the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City’s behalf, there were Ms. Phimpha Keomixay – the Consul General, and the other staff members.

On Boun Pi May, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Giang sent the best wishes to Ms. Phimpha Keomixay and the Consulate General’s staff a healthy and bountiful year as this traditional Laotian festival possesses many cultural meanings of wealth, prosperity and happiness.
On this special occasion, the Consulate General of Laos in Ho Chi Minh City held a reception with captivating performances such as the Lamvong traditional dance and thread-tying ritual, which vividly recreated the atmosphere of the Boun Pi May.

Every year, UEF receives many Laotian students on the international exchange program. In order for Laotian students to feel like home, UEF has always try to hold cozy and joyful activities, spreading the spirit of cohesion and friendship.

Through the visit to the Consulate General of Laos and the activities for Laotian students, UEF wishes to generate motivation for them to strive to study thoroughly and have a valuable experience at UEF. After this, the relations between the two countries Vietnam and Laos are expected to further tighten.
