UEF x ST. Dominic College of Asia - Philippines (SDCA): meet and discuss potential programs

OCTOBER 31 - UEF International Institute organized the working session “Welcome Delegation of ST. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA), Philippines”. The two sides discussed and implemented many cooperative orientations aimed at promoting international learning opportunities for students.

UEF representatives were Dr. Do Huu Nguyen Loc - Vice President and Director,  UEF International Institute, and Dr. Nguyen Hong Nhung - Deputy Director,  UEF International Institute.

The session also had the honor to welcome from SDCA Dr. Alvin Jason A.Virata - Dean School of Communication, Multimedia and Computers Studies, Director for Information and Communication Technology, Academic Chair of Information Technology; Dr. Nilda W. Balsicas - Vice President for Academic Affairs, Research Extension and Linkages; Prof, Laudimer C.Hingada - Program Chair of Multimedia Arts; Prof. Melbert V.Animas - International Linkages and Networking Officer, Academic Coordinator of Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs.

Both sides introduced the information about their school at the meeting. Since then, they discussed cooperative programs suitable to the orientations, developments, and student characteristics of each department.






 Both sides had discussed several contents of cooperation

SDCA, a university with 19-year-old establishment and development, is now offering multidisciplinary training programs ranging from Medicine, Media, and Computers, to Hospitality, Tourism, Psychology, etc. Hence, the partner university expected to join hands with UEF in implementing programs of transnational global classrooms, remote co-teaching, and cultural exchange learning and projects in line with the vision and mission of both sides along with organizing training and developing activities for faculty, and exchanging faculties and experts. SDCA also proposed a collaborative postgraduate program in Psychology and Business Administration.  

The two universities have gained a deeper understanding since this meeting and discussion. From that as the foundation, the deployment of appropriate cooperative content can be strengthened, contributing to improving the quality of training linked with the goal of internationalization of UEF.
