Nguyen Truong Sang and Tang Man Nghi, currently majoring in Communication Technology from the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication at UEF, recently had a chance to join PVO Media’s internship project in Singapore - popularly known as the Lion City.
Having excellent performance in their online internship, these two students were invited to an on-site internship, handling the pre-production phases of the company as studio secretaries and camera operators.
During 10 days of working with international students and the professional crew, both of them fulfilled their tasks and gained a number of valuable experiences.
Truong Sang and Man Nghi successfully completed their internship in the City of Lion
Mr. Nguyen Truong Sang shared: “My international colleagues and I set up the studio, discussed with foreign customers, and dealt with specific professional equipment. To be honest, together with accomplished experts and seniors, it was an insane experience getting acquainted with the media industry of Singapore. Furthermore, I owe a great debt of gratitude to them for sharing their practical viewpoints on the matters that we're only exposed to on a theory level at school.”
Ms. Tang Man Nghi sentimentally recalled: “After the internship in Singapore, there was nothing except nostalgic memories. Being accompanied by international seniors and peers in the company, I have acquired some useful skills, improving myself substantially.”
The both UEFers had unforgettable encounters with international friends
Leaping into a new environment, these two received warm-hearted care and generous assistance from their partners and allies. Thereby, UEFers finished their journey successfully and established plenty of connections with international friends. This field trip not only enhanced UEFers’ professional expertise but also improved their language proficiency - an essential requirement in such an integrated society.
Man Nghi stated that beyond the “profits” of knowledge, the most treasured thing was meeting people who share similarities with her in fortes and goals, connecting with people who are ready to assist as well as sympathise with her about problems at work.
Truong Sang also mentioned: “I was well-taken care of in such an unfamiliar environment by the PVO Media, where I worked, and by the UEF as well, despite the fact that I was in a foreign land, miles away from my country. All of them tried to support me as much as they could to give me a successful and indelible trip full of practical lessons.”
Practical opportunities with appropriate expertise
It was introduced as the cooperative internship between the Faculty of Public Relations and Communication, Center of Corporate Partnerships, UEF International Institute and the Skilio company (Singapore), which offers international career opportunities for the young generation to challenge themselves in foreign professional workplaces. Truong Sang and Man Nghi were the outstanding candidates who successfully earned the limited slots in the first cooperative internship program.
According to them, if it had not been for practical activities guided by their Faculty from how to write an effective CV to improve their English proficiency, they would not have been here. Additionally, the warm-hearted encouragement from the faculty members significantly boosted their confidence when the two students were in the interview stage.
Commenting on UEFers, Skilio praised UEF’s interns that they were active, creative, sociable and culturally adaptive in no time. They also flexibly kept up with the dynamic global changes and put a great effort into overcoming challenging difficulties in a new environment within a remarkably short period of time.
Congratulations to Truong Sang and Man Nghi on completing their internship and gaining a lot of efficient experience in the global environment which functions as an essential basis for enhancing their knowledge and succeeding in their own way.
