UEFers gear up for international internships after the Lunar New Year Holiday in 2024.

"This internship in Japan marks a stroke of luck for me and my peers when it is conveniently arranged immediately after the Lunar New Year festivities. I've taken a period to relax, reunite with family – a means for me to recharge for the upcoming breakthroughs on the horizon," Nguyen Anh Thy shared before the plane soared towards Japan.

FEBRUARY 19, the Center of Corporate Partnerships collaborated with the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures, hosted a farewell event for 8 students from the 2020 cohort embarking on their international internship in Japan. University leaders and faculty members arrived early to convey New Year wishes, hand out lucky red envelopes, and offer meticulous guidance, encouraging UEFers before they set off.

Joining the farewell event were Dr. Nhan Cam Tri - Vice President, Board of Presidents, Mr. Huynh Quoc Phong - Director, Center of Corporate Partnerships, Dr. Vo Van Thanh Than -  Dean, Faculty of the Languages and International Cultures, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Trinh - Director of IFK Education and Translation Company, along members of the Faculty of Languages and International Cultures. Notably, the event can not be hosted without the participation of 8 students’ families and friends.


Meticulous advice and encouragement for the students before they set off

 

Eight students participated in this internship program belong to the 2020 cohort class of 2020, including Vo Doan Dinh Quang, Bach Thanh Tien, Hoang Thuc Trinh, Dang Hoang Yen, Tran Ngoc Tuyen, Nguyen Thi Kieu Diem, Le Thi Minh Hieu, and Nguyen Anh Thy. As fourth-year students, they have accumulated enough knowledge to step into the real world and learn from experience before graduation. All of them will take part in this internship at Kanucha Bay Resort & Villas in Okinawa, Japan, for one year.

With plenty of New Year's wishes and lucky red envelopes given by lecturers, 8 students are expected for a successful return. Sharing before this important trip, Quang expresses, "I am both excited and anxious as I set foot in Japan to admire its beautiful landscapes and understand its culture. This trip is an opportunity for me to improve my Japanese language skills."

With a strong desire to learn about the Japanese working style and improve her communication skills in Japanese, Anh Thy has meticulously prepared for this trip. "Participating in this crucial international internship, in addition to packing the essentials, I have also prepared myself with knowledge relevant to the field of hospitality, which I will participate in as an intern. Simultaneously, I always bring a relaxed mindset, ready to embrace and learn from new experiences.", she shared.

Hoang Yen added: "This is the country I have always dreamt of setting foot in since pursuing my Japanese Language studies. This year-long journey presents an opportunity for me to fulfill that dream. And I believe that upon my return to Vietnam, I will have grown significantly."

All participants share a common spirit of eagerness for learning and exploration. It is firmly believed that this overseas trip will yield invaluable lessons for UEFers. Upon their return, these individuals will be equipped with enhanced resilience and self-assurance, ready to navigate the job market with confidence everywhere, within the country or on a global scale.
